He was on the phone.  I just hung up in mid rant.  That also pees them off.

So i've got the A6M float temporarily attached to the Comet and I think the props are high enough above sea level that i'm not going to need to extend the leg.  Fore and aft float positioning decided by the method I read somewhere which was to put the step under the centre of lift.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Fun morning at work today.
It's always good to be told to get f**ked by a customer.

I get told that every few days by my "clients".

I've noticed in various photos, that when a taildragger has had floats put on it, the step is just behind where the wheel would be, whereas on a tri-gear the step is just in front

Yeah, but as I understand it that's part of your job isn't it?  It's not something that usually happens to me at work.  At home is a different matter of course... :o

Anyhoo, here is a picture of the Comet with all floats in their places.

True. Got told to "f___ off" by a bloke when I told him he was going to gaol for breaching the conditions of his home detention order today, then he described me as "aggressive" to Police. They took him to Yatala for us anyway. ;)

I do like your Comet mate, can't help thinking she needs three bladed props though ?

Oh, ship! :o

Yes! Absolutely! The floaty Comet looks great!

But Chris is probably right ... &, maybe, bigger engines.

I think you could get away by simply saying the new engine occupied the space previously taken up by the wheel bays ?

But the wheel bays are becoming the bomb bays.

I think the floats suit it perfectly in the role of a gentleman adventurers light bomber.  The sort of thing he'd carry on the ocean going sloop he used to move opium around the South Seas between the wars.

So, are we going to see said sloop?

And I think an Erie-class sloop might be useful for said "gentleman adventurer"

Put them in the main float, and I'm being serious. You just need watertight doors and I'm sure something similar was done in the real world ?

On the Curtiss Seamew and it was a problematic feature as those
watertight doors had a habit of not being as advertised.

I had in mind something with more mahogany and polished brass.  But that looks the part.

Having done a spot of googling I found this.

Grimsby class Sloop HMAS Yarra.
Smaller and Australian.
The plane could be carried on the low bit at the back with the crane to hoist it over the side where the rear gun is (note my masterful grasp of nautical terminology here).
I may have to weave this into my PDRV/Sky Pirates of the Nullarbor Coast timeline.
