A  cracking job there so far Fred.

Thanks Kit.
All that PSR has paid off.  The only remaining surface detail is on the floats which have raised panel lines and rivets.
Next task is to fettle the canopy to get a good fit and then to paint (or more likely tape) the frames.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Hmmmmm, all good suggestions.
I'll think on it.

I today received the Airfix MRCA I "won" on Evil-Bay.
I reckon it was almost worth the $7 I paid for it.

...and this is the fin.

Many other parts are also warped.  Some of them are unrecognisable.
It appears to have been subjected to extreme heat.
In addition to this the canopy is missing.
Needless to say I will not be building this for the Tornado build off as it is IMO unbuildable.

Re the floatpane Comet, what about Sea Star ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hmmmm, De Havilland Vampire Squid...
But no.  I want a name that links to Comet and am currently favouring Cupid.

Oh dear that's in a sad shape. Makes me wonder how my kits in storage have faired, has been rather hot the last few weeks...
I store my kits in my shed which has got to the high thirties inside and i've not had any problems.  I'm sure yours will be OK.
I messaged the seller of the Warpnado expecting an argument but instead got an apology, a refund and told to keep it for parts (the large missiles - anyone tell me what they are supposed to be? - are usable as are a few other bits).
It's still not a Tornado but I have abandoned my plans to join in the build off and instead started something else with a large fin - a Revell (nee Hasegawa) Lockheed Viking.  I've had an idea for a zenrat industries Viking rattling around my head for a while and now it's time has come.

Cessna 172 has it's wings on and today got the nose attached (containing lead).  Side windows are attached and masked but I need to sort something to fill the hole at the front.  The windscreen is horrible but I am hopeful a very carefull polish will sort it out.

I also fettled the Cupid's canopy today and then having improved the fit, painted some frame.

Good deal. Viking sounds great. I love those!!!!!!  Can't wait to see the Cessna.  All kinds of good stuff going on here!

I'm looking at cutaways of the Viking trying to work out if there is enough room beneath the wing spars for a passenger compartment.

Not much modelling time today.
I primed some Viking parts and finished painting the Cupid's crew but most of the time was spent on the Stoopid Taxi.

Passengers usually sit down, and if they're military types they can crouch to get into the seats, they're trained to do that anyway..........  ;D ;)

I'm thinking civilians (or at least not uniformed military personnel), and I reckon that if you removed all the computers from the equipment bay under the wings, did away with the bomb bays and lowered the floor then you would have the makings of a small passenger cabin.

So will this be a feeder liner for Zenrat Industries' internal airlines or an entry into the 'Visit your local aircraft carrier' tourist market?  ;D ;)

(the large missiles - anyone tell me what they are supposed to be? ).

Martels Fred, I've been converting the ones I have into a jet powered missile for another project.

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike
