Yeah, rear ride height needs to be dropped a touch.  As it comes out of the box it's got a bit of a rake which the slightly oversized wheels exaggerate.
I've drawn up some 1967 Monte Carlo Rally (won by Mini Cooper #177)  plates for it.  Datsun actually entered a 610 in 1967.

I got a solid 3 hours in today.  While that sounds like a good thing (which it is) it did mean that I ran out of things to do because of waiting for glue, paint, filler etc to dry.
So I did what we all do in this situation and started something new.
One of these.

I figure I need to start building some of the Soviet part of the stash or i'm going to run out of room again.
It might be OOB (the decals look really nice) or PDRV.

Yup, no matter how many times I've sworn not to start another kit until I've finished "this" one  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Indeed, that way lies madness, just look at me!  :banghead:

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Have you ever noticed sometimes the 'start another while awaiting glue/etc drying' model can be finished before the current project?
Not that the current gets put too far aside, just that the new one goes together far more easily than you expect and all of a sudden 'She's Done!'

There are a swathe of different types, styles and sizes... enough that we should be able to get something we need - or close enough to modify without too much effort.

Thanks Rick (& Brad F).  That is going to be very usefull.

The Yak 23 probably won't be quick.  Starting on the cockpit I fed a number of small PE parts to the concrete monster (no carpet in my shed) before having my sanity saved by visitors who stopped me supergluing 1/72 control levers to my fingers by dragging me up to patio where I was forced to eat, drink, barbecue and reminisce.
In the clear light of today (an RDO) I decided not to bother with such irrelevances as parts barely big enough to see and built the seat.  Brad C would have loved it - styrene pan and back with PE sides.  And that's before I get to the seatbelts.  However, at least these parts were large enough to see.  There was no choice about building this as they don't give you an all styrene seat.

As extra punishment to myself I then build a set of Eduard 1/24 photoetch seatbelts for the Cougar Funny Car.  Being an older set i have had for a while they didn't have the new improved paint on them and it all flaked off where they were bent.  However, Tamiya flat red enamel looks to be a perfect match.

On the KrAz front I black washed the jerry cans and shackles that will go in the Stuff Basket, soaked some tissue paper with PVA to make the warning flags and scratched up some orange beacons which will go on the roofs of the truck and the dozer.

I primed the chassis and body of the Fairlady and did some more work on some other builds that have been started for far too long without progress - namely a Roden 1/35 Rolls Royce Armoured car (destined for a Caunter Scheme) and an AMT 1/25 Show Rod.

Got some shed time in before work today (1200 start).
Yak 23 fuselage halves now close up nicely following some filing and sanding of the resin undercarriage bay.  I also fitted the intake divider/nosewheel bay part into on half.  There is another resin part which represents the front of the engine, what may be a hydraulic tank and the nose wheel retraction mechanism.  The instructions show this being fitted upside down.  I know this because unusually for me I did some research which included studying a cutaway drawing (I love cutaways and try to find one for each new aircraft I add to the stash - doesn't mean I look at them though).
Also the Fairlady body got some pink primer.  This is because it's getting painted red.

It's not perfect but it is much better.  I couldn't do any more as it's very fragile and cracks have developed in the top corners.  Luckilly they will be hidden by the wing.

Cleared up nicely, there.

I've always liked those small Civil kits.

I love it!!!!!!!   Hell of a lot better and of course the subject matter is choice. 🔥👌👏👏👏👏

Same here, Rick. I have a bunch that will definitely be built some day. Some of the favorites in my stash.

Been too busy working to model (don't you hate it when...).  I did however get a bit done this evening and have a three day weekend.

I out cut and flattened a piece of Fanta can and sanded the print off and then put the OVERSIZE decals i printed for the KrAz onto it.  When transporting a load by road which exceeds certain maximum dimensions Victorian law (it maybe Federal law - i'm not sure) requires black on yellow retroreflective signage reading "OVERSIZE" to be displayed on the front of the tractor and rear of the trailer.  Flouro orange flags are attached to the widest point of the load (which in the case of a Cat D9 is the corners of the blade).
Signage needs to be cut out and attached.  I have made some flagging material by soaking tissue in PVA and then painting it with flouro orange paint.  This needs to be cut into squares and to then have bungy cord attached to two sides.

I also had a go at putting decals onto the Cessna.  The ones that came with it didn't look viable so I scanned them, dusted the colour and printed them.  They needed some adjustments which I will make now and then reprint them.

Its the same here in the States, although there are 51 different sets of rules governing oversize/overweight permitting.
