Did you get a paid days leave to attend court ? The only time I had to attend as a witness I got a couple of days off and then rather like your guy the accused changed their plea once they'd heard all the evidence against them  ;)

I like the way your PDVR roundels have developed  The National Flag reminds me of something ??

Because it was "post office business" I will be paid for the day.

Based loosely on the Eureka Flag

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka_Flag

The Federation Flag was based on it & is the Flag of the Royal Australian Marines ;)

Right, I knew I'd seen something like it. Cheers

Not seen that RAM flag before......I like it

Just be aware, Chris, that, although the Federation Flag is real, the Royal Australian Marines are a figment of my imagination & have never existed in our reality any where, any time.

I chose the Fed Flag for the RAM Ensign because it looks similar to the RN White Ensign being flown on RAN ships until 1 March 1967, when the Australian White Ensign we now fly was raised for the first time (RW), but sufficiently different to suit a separate arm of the Senior Service.

In my time-line the Australian White Ensign, as it is now, was first raised in 1913, when the Admiralty lost out to pressure for greater Australian (& Canadian) independence in naval matters.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

Much as I would welcome discussion of the Eureka Flag, it's use as our national flag and the inevitability of an Australian republic this is not the place.

Last day at work for two weeks today.  Woohoo!
Not going anywhere and no appointments so I should be able to get some work done on some builds.
Second week is the 1 week build and the middle weekend is both Model Expo and Comic-Con.

I was planning to get some time in thisarvo but the neighbours dropped in to find out if I knew how to make paper hats.

Tomorrow we are going to Werribee Open Range Zoo.  Mrs z has organised for us to feed the giraffes their lunch.
Obviously as they are Australian giraffes they are carnivorous, only eating live prey, and have venomous saliva...
;)

Eileen next door volunteers at a primary school.  She wanted to make paper hats with the kids but couldn't remember how.  With a bit of trial and error we managed to figure it out.
The zoo trip was a birthday present from Mrs z and I to two friends.  Feeding the giraffes was great.  They are such amazing creatures and when seen that close - awesome.  They look like someone took a horse, scalorama'd it, stretched it, kitbashed it with parts from cattle, antelopes & deer, did its eye make up and then gave it a fantasy paint job.
Highlights, other than the giraffes, were the hippos and the rhinos.

All this meant no modelling was done today.  But tomorrow is another day.

What do giraffes eat anyway?

Whatever it is it must be a LONG way off the ground for them to have grown necks that long!  :o

They eat the succulent young leaves from the tops of the trees.
We were feeding them acacia and melaleuca.
Also carrots, sweet potato, lettuce and "pony nuts".

Looking at them I was having steampunk visions of the Imperial Giraffe Corps patrolling the veldt.

The giraffe and the platypus were the last animals created by God out of left over parts!

Don't forget the tongues  ;D  When I was in Kenya and we fed the young giraffes in the rescue centre I'll never forget the tongues, they went everywhere  ;)

Whilst on safari we were warned that hippos are one of the most dangerous animals in the wild. Even the crocodiles are wary of them. Amazing animals though.

Thinking about it I doubt if I could remember, that's if I ever knew.
