This one is 6" deep but that may be too shallow for it's first load as it will include the KrAz truck with the bulldozer on the trailer.

Ah yes, that will probably need a deeper one.

I've loaded the box.  The top of the dozer roof stops the lid from going on.
I could do with another inch.

Progress on the Royce.

It's semi weathered.  Just had a coat of satin clear to seal everything in before I apply the finishing touches.

You sometimes have the most unexpected vocabulary.  I had to look up verisimilitude.
But thanks dude.

In the Haynes Manual for the Rolls Royce Armoured car there is a description of driving one of the last remaining examples (the Bovington one I think).  It's a crash box, the clutch is heavy, the brakes are terrible, there is no rear vision and you can't see much out of the sides either.
However, none of that would matter when one could be forcing ones way through the peak hour traffic taking pot shots at german SUVs with the Boys anti tank rifle.

That's why we love you, Fred! ;D ;D ;D

The Rolls Royce is looking exceptional - & Brad has used the perfect word for it!

Not sure the Boys would be that effective against some SUV's from what I've read ?  ;)

A brief burst of interweb work suggests   Effective penetration:-1 inch penetration at 90° 100 yards  1/2 inch penetration at 90° 500 yards

This would suggest that a couple of rounds in the radiator (if the target is behind you) or in the fuel tank (if in front of you) could give most 4X4 / SUV vehicles pause for thought, especially if they are at very close range.

Yes, well, that's against armour, as most SUV's of any nationality are made out of something approaching tin-foil & have aluminium engines. I'm figuring a Boys 0.55" round would go in one end & almost out the other of most of them.

Perfection!

Where can I get one, and will it fit my Signum?

Try Snowtrooper.  The Finns were apparently keen on them as they could penetrate the T-26.

I quite like the idea of putting a shot through a Cayenne and then into the Tuareg it is tailgating...

A VERY long time ago I had the chance to fire a Boys on the ranges at Bisley. The darn thing almost broke my shoulder and was AMAZINGLY loud too!  :banghead:

I did hit the target with it, but only just.....

I'm sure that  a couple of 0.55" Boys would fit  one on each roof bar, or install them in a securely fastened roof box. Next problem is harmonising them to organise converging fire. Do you anticipate a target further than 10 yards away?

Advantage of a roof box is you could vary the armament....  a flame thrower,a pair of Vickers guns, a DDT spray for sorting out Beetles etc.
