I've got some factory fit roof rails and a heft roof box on one of my Signums, but the recoil from just one Boys would probably stop it dead if I fired it ahead, even with 200 odd bhp under the hood!

25 yards would be better, nail those BMWs before they could become a threat.

I'm sure that a couple of 0.55" Boys would fit one on each roof bar, or install them in a securely fastened roof box. Next problem is harmonising them to organise converging fire. Do you anticipate a target further than 10 yards away?

The Boys is bolt-action, so synchronizing two gunners might be difficult.

The .50 Browning M2HB would be a better choice.

Woohoo!

There were not that ,many civil aircraft at Expo this year. The Vic Air bananana was the only civilian helicopter in the rotary wing class.

At the Elstree show yesterday the guy who does loads of 1/48 Scale resin British projects from the 50/70's was there and he's got a 1/48 scale Rotodyne due for release shortly for £68. Somehow I thought of you

His stand is like one of the Tony Butler books in 1/48 resin, some amazing stuff.

Lucky for my wallet that I don't build 1/48 aircraft.
Although I could scaleorama one into 1/72 to create the Jumbodyne...

Finished the Royce. Took some pics which were not very good as I didn't bother to set up anything.
I'll do more tomorrow and post a separate thread.

I am planning to place this, my earlier BA-3 armoured car and the dinosaur into a diorama. A sort of Lost World in Palestine 1944 type thing.

I've been doing a wreckscue on my AMT 1/25 Sunbeam Tiger. Nothing wrong on it per se, but built out of the box the front ride height is just too high.

To remedy this I pulled the body off and removed the rather tall shock mounts moulded on the tops of the front inner guards. These were stopping the body sitting any lower and it now had a much improved stance.
The (aftermarket resin) dizzy fouled the bonnet but that was soon remedied. Unfortunately lowering the body caused the top of the firewall to push the dash upwards which ejected the windscreen (only glued in with Krystal Klear). The windscreen will fit back now its had a bit of trimming, sanding and polishing, but I have yet to do so.
Here's how it looks now. Those paying attention will note the sidepipes also fell off.

This is better than it was although IMO the front valance is too shallow. I won't do anything about that on this one but it goes onto the list of changes to make when I build the second one. Along with correcting the engine set back, firewall and transmission tunnel.

Brings back fond memories for me of course too, but did you leave the chrome strips off the side deliberately?

I sanded them off (along with the scripts). They were very faintly moulded and I felt that after paint they would have all but disappeared and have been impossible to foil.
As the Mk2 didn't have the chrome trim I decided that's what it was.

But the Mk 2s had that 'orrible egg-crate grille.

Your Tiger driver obviously preferred the Mk 1 grille and retro-fitted it.

I liked the Mk 1s better actually, they were better balanced to my mind. The 289 was just a tad too pokey for the almost standard Alpine suspension, and I think it really needed traction bars.
