I had to apply over two days as I ran out of places to hold the fuselage that were putty free.

That's M'box kits for you.........  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

So far I have sawn off the conventional tail and glued on the vee tail parts.  I did this before joining the fuselage halves thinking it was a good idea.  Hope I was right.  I'm thinking i'll get a better fit and will be able to reinforce it inside before I close it up.

Must admit I normally cut before joining, helps me keep a more accurate cut, and I need all the help I can get.

It sounds worse than it is as a lot of the putty is in the bomb door panel gaps which I don't need as it is a cargo hauler.  The cargo specific parts though all fit badly.  There is also a bulge on one side where the fuselage meets the cockpit which I need to block sand with coarse wet'n'dry.
Today I sanded off most of the putty and then glued on one wing.  This also needed work to fit nicely.
And then I lost a prop.  Looking through the box only revealed three.  I then stood up, went to walk round the table to look on the floor and found it...
...by treading on it.  Result was one blade completely detached and the other two bent at the root.  I straightened and glued it and am confident it' will be useable.
Pissed me off.  But not as much as not finding it would have.

If you have one of these then make a note to try and cut slightly further back than the panel line the instructions show as the cutting location.  I cut on the panel line and there is a slight step between the vee tail part and the rest of the fuselage.
I did some painting of interior stuff today but most of my time was spent sanding the Privateer.

Privateer now has all wings and tails attached.

Did another coat of paint on the inner parts of the Bf 109 and then turned my attentions to the wings.  The extended wings of the H-0 kit are not as well moulded as the standard ones in the G-0 kit I have sourced the rest of the parts from.  They have some monster male ejector pin towers, some flash and the inside of the wheel well needed sanding to get closure.
I also couldn't live with the step down from the fuselage to the vee tail parts so I cut them off, inserted styrene sheet spacers and glued them back on again.

Didn't work this Satyrday but spent all morning and a big chunk of the afternoon splitting logs for firewood.  Following that the weather turned horrible so rather than sit in the shed under the tin roof and fail to hear the radio I sat and watched a couple of episodes to The Vietnam War on Netflix.
While in the shed putting my work gloves and ear defenders away I did inspect the Bf 109 fuselage halves.  Putting in the spacers has done the trick and when i've trimmed and sanded all should be well.

Sunday = no work = all day in the shed.

I got the Sea Witch mounted onto her plinth.

I finally found my masking mojo and taped up the ziking Ragnar.  Unfortunately in the process I pushed another window in.  There is no way to fix this so it isn't obvious so i'm going to plug it with solid sheet, paint it orange and callout an emergency exit.

Privateer got more putty.

Bf 109H-v got its tails.

Both the Engines - More or Less builds got work and I painted the wheels of the Sdfkz 222.

Most glorious!     Hell, I like the idea of the emergency exit and I think it will work out for the better in the end, although extra work.

Paint it green with an orange outline & it'd look better. ;)

Uncle duties this weekend.  But this still allows for me to sit at the kitchen bench and put on transfers (I just can't go and hide in the shed).
I removed the masking from ziking Ragnar.  The edges were a mess (Gunze acrylics really like the tape removed when they are freshly applied or else they flake) so I hid them with thin strips of self adhesive mylar.  This is actually Hasegawa carbon fibre effect film but as it's a very subtle pattern you can't see it unless you look really close.  It's perfect for this as it is very flexible and super sticky.
Transfers are home made.  I didn't even try to match the green figuring it would look worse if it was an almost match than if it was obviously different.

As you can see it is still a glider.  I wasn't going to paint anything else until I had managed to complete the fuselage paint as a) I had no idea what it was going to look like until I finished it and b) I wasn't confident it was going to turn out to be acceptable.  Now I can get on with all the other parts it still needs (which includes a anti glare panel).

Thanks boss.

I started on the engines today.  They are mostly assembled and have the insides painted already.
I may have started on a Hasegawa Spitfire Mk1 because, well because I can't help myself. :-\

I have just been up to a meeting of the Australian Model Car Club.  My usual passenger, Terry, is away so I only had Hawkwind on the iPod and my own company.
This gave me time to ponder on important things like what happened to Jack Ruby?
I also decided on a scheme for the Privateer Express.  It's going to be civilian but in a recently demilitarised guise - ie with the markings painted over and the company name painted down the side.
