Oooh.  That looks good, and if I ever get my plastic mojo back and build my civilian air pirate-ish Sunderland Mk V, I may do that.

Well, the engine pod is one of the parts I like.  Those nacelles with he up/down swept exhausts are one of teethings that make a 110 for me.
It's mainly the wings I don't like.  I used 109 wings outboard of the nacelles and the fuselage in order to use their undercarriage and I think they could be longer.
I'm also not keen on that stalky tail leg I had to use in order to get the rear prop clear of the ground.
no, there has to be another way to do it maintaining the asymmetry while still using the original engines.

Nose wheel undercarriage would suit that, but you'd have to extend the nose/put the wings a little farther back or else it might just be a little to "busy" up front ?

I was thinking that but it would have to have two wheels in the fuselage (fore and aft) and one in the nacelle.

Work and Uncle duties cut into my modelling time this weekend (luckilly the cricket is on late so that doesn't affect  things) but I did manage to sit at the dining table and do some painting.

Did you work for B&V in a previous life ? ;D

It took me quite a while to get my brain around that, I was at a party last night  ;), but it could work.

It'd be a bit like a Vautour with an engine missing - in terms of undercarriage layout anyway.  Hmmm, i'm off to look for an Me 110 to sacrifice.  I have an Eduard one in the stash but that's far too good to chop up like this.

Worked a 7 hour day today so I didn't get to much time in the shed.  What time I did have i spent on the 'dyne, Toucam and putting transfers on the Privateer.
Privateer looks good even if I do say so myself.

<later>
OK, done.  I found an Eduard Me 110D (weekend edition) on evil-bay.  Cheap postage made it a better option than either Revell or Airfix.

From memory the Eduard kit has a few donations to the spares box ? Nice kit, but again from memory a little fiddly ?

Without going and consulting the box, I think you re correct Chris.
Their 1/72 FW 190s have many surplus parts and do have some fiddley aspects to them.  Very detailed though.
The 110 I already had in the stash is a Gustav.  The new one is a Dora.

Yup earlier Eduard kits could be very fiddly and a bit of a pain, but were very well tooled. They seem to have learnt the lesson that "more parts is not necessarily better" on their more recent kits. I think they re-tooled the 190 ?

Second 110 arrived today.  It has a complete spare fuselage, an extra set of wheels and a spare set of vertical tails.
It was being delivered by a courier company who I had instructed to take it to my place of work at the Post Office...
...so of course I found it in my letter box on my way out to my car this morning.

Perhaps your employers turned them away ? Or the driver just felt embarrassed and was concerned at the reception he'd get ?

Strangely I had a delivery from BT this morning which I'd expected to come via a courier and it came by good old Royal Mail, which I much prefer. Mainly because if I'm not in I can walk to their delivery office in 10 minutes

Grrr.... need more pics. I kept trying to zoom in to look at at things and no joy.   ;D ;D

Seems to me the "painted over" markings has worked well, I like it.

I deliberately keep such pics small mate.  What were you trying to look at?  Writing on the nose reads "Old No.1" and the aircraft behind it are a civilian Cessna 172 and a RW Aussie Huey.

No, I work all day Wednesdays so I was there.  The couriers will claim that I didn't reply to their message quick enough and by the time I did it was already in the van.  That's what our guys say in the same situation.

Frickin freezing today, piffing with rain. and blowing a gale.  After work I sat in my shed next to the heater and got the Spoit and 109 ready for the pre-transfer clear coats.
Having finished the 'dyne I went through the box and sorted all the remaining parts into the relevant parts boxes.  While at it I took the opportunity to sort through the 1/72 Miscellaneous box to separate all the wheels/undercarriage legs and jet intake/exhausts into bags.

Your cold weather got a mention in our news this morning. Probably so we didn't feel quite so bad over ours  :-\

Yeah, part of Frankston pier snapped off in the rough seas and washed up on shore further down the beach.
I say pier, it's more of a jetty really.

It's not too bad in my shed sitting next to the (electric fan) heater but the spray table is in the opposite corner and so doesn't get heated.  No point in trying to heat the whole shed as it is an uninsulated tin structure and I might as well just burn a pile of money.
