That's just weird.

I spent the major part of today cleaning my gutters and windows.  As I have to climb up on the roof to clean detritus out of the rooftop gullies I did as I always do and had a stroll around up there peering into areas of the neighbours properties I normally don't get to see into.
It's at times like this that I am glad we live in a single storey home.

Did get down to the shed though.
Inspection of the Currawong showed I was so excited about finishing the PSR that I put the last coat of primer on too heavily and it has crazed in places.  Nothing a touch of sanding won't cure but it's annoying as i want to get on with the camo scheme.  I'm going to have another go at what I like to think of as Chronic Contour Camo.

;D    Hell, it was better than mine. I think you nailed it, so do it again, yes! I think it's a most glorious of camo.  I've wanted to try it gain myself since my first attempt turned out nice but was NOT what I was TRYING to do. In particular, I missed on the color gradients which you got perfectly.  CCC!

...hard to steer with unreliable brakes and no reverse?  And the turret painted yellow.

Picked up the Currawong to prepare it for paint and realised I hadn't sorted the hardpoints.  So I did that and start to prepare the weapons today.
As its a PDRV aircraft its getting soviet weapons.  A couple of rocket pods and six cluster bombs from a Dragon set will be joined by a pair of AAMs from a Tamiya MiG 29.
The CCC scheme will be wraparound shades of green.

In what little time I had today between work, shopping and visiting the chiropractor (not in that order) I managed to plan out the CCC on the Currawong.
Now its just a case of paint by numbers.

That's becoming a really nice looking aircraft, Fred!

Thanks mate.
While I like the F-104 as it is it is also very open to, maybe not improvement but definitely to change.
And the old Hasegawa kit isn't much use for anything else.  It's nearly as bad as the Academy offering.
The later Hasegawa is much better.  I have one in the stash I want to build as an NMF Luftwaffe bird  ("...the long awaited reawakening of German Air supremacy.  We shall rise like a phoenix from the ashes and sew up the skies with our gleaming silver needles..."  Robert Calvert.  Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters)

Here is my colour palette for the Currawong.
No.1 is Vallejo Gunship Green.  2, 3 & 4 crated by adding increasing amounts of Golden Olive.
I have painted one coat on all the No.1 areas.  To be honest it looks ridiculous - white with green blobs.  However I am confident adding more paint will improve things.

More Paint/Glue/Cowbell/Go Pedal ALWAYS improves things, doesn't it?  ;D

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

And on a more serious note, :o
its got quite a bit of Hawker P.1103/P.1121 about it.
I like it

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

More cowbell is always the answer.

And I now have Mississippi Queen stuck on my cerebral juke box.

Rock on!

Now I have it!  Great song.

I was going to mention the other day about how much I dig the CCC plotting. It seems to wrap the plane like a warm embrace.  The colors are good, too.....      I need to try this again soon myself; I think my overall painting abilities have increased and I can now afford more paints.

Wigged out about how nice them wings works and how well blended they are. Choice!  Old crap kits with bad accuracy and shithouse fitment are what we're all about! I dig it.... every time I find out one of my kits is a wonky pile of crap I say, "Well, good, that means it's perfect for what if!"     Of course, that doesn't explain away bad fitment and all that but then again I TRY to explain that away, too.  ;D
