I did paint some places which, in hindsight I didn't need to paint before construction.
Will I remember if I build another?
Probly not.

That sounds like some excellent engineering but, perhaps, not exquisite, as, in that case, they'd have engineered their tolerances with the use of the item & paint in mind. ;)

I'm beginning to learn that you need to keep the mating surfaces as clean as possible on these new Airfix tooling's

I thought i'd done that.  But sometimes the areas next to the mating surfaces seem to affect the fit.

I gloss cleared it today and dug out the transfers from the relevant folder.

I also built up most of the chassis of the 1/35 Hilux.  I've managed to keep the steering operational which surprised me given its delicacy.

1/35 Hilux is having its wheels painted (a resin "sagged" plain steel set replacing Meng's alloys with rubber tyres) and is close to final assembly.  Then I will scratch up the various additions it would need as a pilot vehicle for oversize loads followed by weathering it to buggery (because you rarely see a clean Hilux of this age).

It's the monthly Model Car Club meeting tomorrow and I was sorting out what to take (theme is Race & Rally) with the front off of one of my display cases when Mrs z let Charlie the Dog into the shed.  Charlie hasn't had this level of access before and it was only her indecision which saved one of my '66 Batmobile collection from getting grabbed in order to start a "chase me" game.  I have explained to her that should she ever do this with a model then I would reluctantly be forced to kill her but she doesn't seem to understand or believe me.

Dogs, eh!? Some things they just can't learn, & it's different for each one. ;D

With our German Shepherd it's giving the ball to someone. Even if he's begging you to throw it, he won't give you the bloody thing for love nor food! :banghead:

My Doberman was the same, although with her it was rather a case of thinking "why should I give it to you back as you will only throw it away again "

Blenheim's looking good

Can't really blame her though, as we're not sure we believe you either...  ;)

zenrat

Charlie doesn't bring the ball or frisbee back but she will drop it close enough to you that you get the idea she wants it thrown again but far enough away that she can deny that was her intention.

I have been throwing empty sprues into a cardboard box on the floor of the shed which I transfer to the recycling bin when its full.
I've had to move the box as she has discovered grabbing one is a surefire way to get me to chase her round the yard.  It's not that I want them back but I hate to think the mess sharp pieces of styrene would make to her insides if she swallowed pieces.

Hey, it gets both her and Dad exercised, so everyone wins...  ;D

Night vision.  They've got a reflective membrane that we don't have due to being primarily daytime creatures so they see a lot better in the dark.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
