Update time!

The hook and cannon are all in place, next step was decals.

The next step SHOULD HAVE BEEN decals: the sheet I bought, with markings for a single Seafire 47, were cracked on the sheet. The two "ROYAL NAVY" titles to go above the serial shattered when I tried to move them off the sheet, one fuselage roundel wouldn't stick and the other cracked into six or seven pieces. In addition the red in the roundels was very pale and dot-matrix spotty and the blue was off, so I need to hunt for some more. Fortunately it was cheap (source of the problem?) so I didn't mind throwing it all away.

On the positive side, the painting and detail work is about finished. Left to go are: touch-ups on the hook and cannon, installing the exhaust, and (after next week's payday) getting a Firefly FR.1 prop. Then it's the decals (probably next week too) and we're done! I'll upload a photo or two this weekend to show progress.

That's looking really good, Zac!

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

My reply was lost in the ether....

Thanks gents!

The next job will be the spinner and prop. I got a BarracudaCast Firefly Mk.I job but, despite the presence of four blades in the bag, the spinner is set up for three. So what I'll do next weekend is:
- fill two of the prop mounts
- make a copy from modelling clay with four holes and more length
- use the new spinner as a master in my first ever resin casting experiment

Progress as and when!
