logan!

just where oh where is that XB-70 café divider?

That's at the Valkyrie Café in the USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio.

hmm I wonder if I could getaway with playing Wagner's 'ride of the Valkyrie's' rather loudly over the cafe's PA system.

thanks for the enlightenment logan!

take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

Are these all whiffs? You are very busy!
A real world build from Lee is a very rare beast indeed ;D
I always hope for the best.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Exceedingly rare.  I can count them on the fingers of one (Sontaran's) hand.* Even my Spitfire prototype got slightly whiffed.  And they're getting so subtle now that you *REALLY* have to know your subject to spot it.  Anyone can twin something or slap 56 sqn checquerboards on something.  Takes a lot more thinking and research to come up with something that'll get even hard core whiffers stumped. I've done that.

Tell me what's the whiff with this?

* They are:
Fairey Delta 2
Mosquito PRIV DZ383
De Havilland Hornet F1 PX252
The last one was an RAAF Meteor F8 in 2002.

Commission builds don't count.  And I would include the Mosquito PRII DD744, but although the photo I was was working from is captioned as a Mosquito PRII and the aircraft was indeed converted to that, it hadn't been when the photo was taken.  There's a few other photos of the aircraft from the same shoot and they're equally wrongly captioned.

I know almost absolutely nothing about Spits but I'll guess two blade prop on 8 gun wing?

The ashtray is full whereas IRL the pilot was a non-smoker.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Desert camo'd Spitfire I?

I don't think any Mk Is got out there, did they?

There was a few MkIs in the middle east.

I think the lighting is making it look desert camo as it's green/brown.

Now I was told this but I'm b'd if I can remember  :banghead: Knowing Lee it's probably a Hurricane squadron or something like that

Thinking about it I may have taken the photo ??
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hmm, I can't quite see if it's BN or RN, but if it's BN those codes were allocated to 170, 240 or 618 Sqdn. none which flew Spitfires. On the other hand if it's RN I could be 72 or 93 Sqdns. and 72 did fly Spitfires and in the Middle East too. 93 flew nightfighters originally, but later switched to Spitfires which it flew over Algiers prior to Operation Torch, but they wouldn't have been two bladed Mk Is

Anyway, I'm tiring of all this subtlety, I'm going back to my Tri-Stang.

BN was the codes for 618 had they been formed between March-September 1939.

Straight Airfix mk I from the mk II boxing.  European colours, not desert.
