As far as I can tell, this is nothing to do with Aircraft In Miniature...

Anyway, here's an oddball new in at Hannants: a 1/35th Soviet TIZ-AM-600 motorcycle. No I'd never heard of it either, but apparently it was a licence-built copy of the BSA B31 "sloper" 600cc single. Nice to see something other an a Harley, BMW or Zundapp:

The hard panniers look interesting.
My eyes and fingers are not up to a bike in 1/35 but it'd be nice in 1/12.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Thing is, there's so much diorama stuff in 1/35th but not in 1/24th or 1/12th. It's like that Master Box biker-girl-plus-zombies set you can get: the zombies are 1970s American but what bike can you put her on in 1/35th? A BMW R75? A Harley 45? Any added variety of bikes in 1/35th is a good thing.

Heh!

Just noticed the machine-gun on the handle-bar! ;D

'1970s American'??? Uhhh, they're from the Resident Evil movie franchise which puts them smack in the 21st century.  ;D

Captain Canada

The gun on the bars might have cause a few 'watch this' accidents. I like the pinstripes on a military bike as well. Then again, it almost looks like they are on a parade square, so who knows. Still an interesting subject.

Have they got an actual franchise deal or is it just generic rip-off? I don't see anything specific on MB's website and you'd think they'd be shouting it from the rooftops if they actually had a licence.

Nevertheless, you're right: the girl's gun is a Beretta 92F which puts it mid 80s onwards at least, which makes the choice of bikes even more incongruous. If you were really in that situation, would you seek out a rare museum piece or a Russian import with dubious reliability and thinly scattered spares? I think if you wanted a bike at all (not a super-bright decision) you'd get a standard Honda or the like where you had a chance of finding spares in any town.

Mossie

The Tamiya JGSDF Recon set supplies a modern bike (I had to search the web, Honda XLR250R apparently).  There's a Dragon one too I believe?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

'Franchise' in the sense of the film franchise, rather than having franchise rights.  ;)

Alice(Milla) was on a bike in the early parts of Resident Evil:Extinction:

Amusingly not even the Red Army zombies in Resident Evil:Retribution ride Urals, and the story takes place on Kamchatka.  ;D

Weaver

Ah, right. I've not seen Extinction, so I didn't recognise the outfit. Now I understand the comment.

The bike behind here there is actually a BMW, although it's about as far from the old flat twins as it's possible to get. It's also one of the last BMWs you's choose for any kind of off-road setting, but I'm guessing it's the one BMW wanted to plug most via product placement.

An He-60 Floatplane in 1/72nd. Nice, but Hell's Bells is it expensive!
