No doubt the Wessex family are beautiful. But they're no Sea Kings lol. That gives me another idea tho, doing Sea Kings in all of the Wessex schemes !

Or conversely doing a bunch of Wessexes in Sea King schemes?  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Captain Canada

Yes, that could work as well !

Actually, it's one blue - sort of the darker end of the middle spectrum in the photo (looks like the photographer's flash paled out the nearer bits & the tail is beyond its effective range).

In bright Aussie summer sunlight they did look lighter, though. ;)

But Commando Merlins just won't be as cool as Sea Kings ! Mind you, the Merlin is pretty cool as well. I loved seeing the RN one at Waddo ( being used to seeing the RCAF SAR birds at home ) it just looked so sinister up there in the sky....but the Sea King will always have top spot in the helicopter world for me. Just a classic in every way. Looks like a proper helicopter to me.

I have trouble imagining Russian types in NATO service. As cool as they are !

Markings as per a Sea King and as I saw fit. Turned out pretty good in my view ! Love the look and shape of these choppers. I was going to go all out with pics of builds today, but it's cool, damp and windy outside ! Figures....

Very plausible Cap'n and nicely done too.

Do those tanks on the stubs come with the kit?

Thanks guys. And yes they do Kit. It's the USAF SAR example. The giant holes for the AAR probe are handily covered up by the AVGAS decals  I've got spare tanks if you so wish.

It looks like the Revell kit with all those rivets, in which case I have one, presumably with the tanks, but as I've never opened the box (in 30+ years...) I can't confirm that.  ;D

Another cracker - looks really good in that scheme.
