Max as some of you know is my son. At time of writing he is 6yrs old. Some of you have met him at shows and may remember his enthusiasm for aircraft. Last year he made a new tool Airfix Spitfire MkI or II....he loved doing it. I cut and trimmed the parts and mostly applied the glue. He pushed most parts together and painted the whole model. I drew the outline for the camo pattern an he filled it in. He tried to apply the decals but needed some help. The more he does the better he gets. I will post pics of his work heres. He has done 3 real world kits but is currently working on two Whiffs....when I post pics can people just bear in mind the age of the modeller when commenting......many thanks.....H

Admin...I think this is the best place to post pics of Max's Work.....

Good to see this mate, and yes it is the best place for the posts

Howard of Effingham

brilliant stuff!

thanks AoO for reminding us of max's spitfire from the Hendon show.

all things considered it was a very good model.

Great work Max!  I don't think my builds were that good when I was my teens.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

....and we share the same name ;D. I didn't paint my first model 'til I was much older, just glued them together. It took awhile before I tried harder. Well done .

Max working on one of two Whiffs.....any guesses as to the time frame/user.... Kit n Chris are excluded as they know.....or at least been in on the discussion....

Wonderful stuff Hank, and Max too.

When I was five plastic kits didn't exist, but my 'building' of the equivalent Veron solids was APPALING compared to Max's work.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Its the look of concentration on the face that gets me

It must help kids with their school work to have a hobby that encourages them to think about things they like doing ?

I was going to say that eventually women and beer will interfere but it appears the beer has already started  ;D

Glad he's into rugby as well mate. I played football but some of my friends grandkids are into rugby and it sure teaches them a few things that football never could nowadays

Cap'n C......he is so enthusiastic......I love it......I hate saying no to him......but there are other things to do during the day. He is also very chuffed today as he recieved a special delivery from a member here.......the kits are virtually finished, just gotta have a bit of gloss varnish over the matt paint so they bed down nicely.........something for him to do when I get home from work tomorrow hopefully.....I will hopefully get the B26 from Thorvics sale at the end of the month.....thanks Weaver.......Max will love using the rattle can as I think a silver/NMF be different for the model shelf as its full of camo schemes at the moment.......
