NARSES2

It's a good weekend Kit. Perth's a nice place and the surrounding countryside is gorgeous providing the weather is on your side. Repays a few days spent.

The train journey once you get North of Newcastle is   as well.

Going to try and make it again next year
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

One day I'll just HAVE to get up there <sigh>

Make a holiday/short break of it Kit. Take a couple of days to travel up to Perth, stopping for instance in the Lake district or somewhere nice overnight, no need to rush things. Arrive in Perth on the Friday so you have plenty of time to look around and find the venue.
On your return trip down south do something similar but stop at different locations, or you could go really overboard and extend your trip up into the highlands!

so far so good.
Some modest spending (by our standards). Good displays from both What if? and project canceled sigs. (photos to follow post show)

Sad to see the Jamasons stand acting as the final clear out of their stock. Some real bargins to be had  by the circling vultures.

some "new" (to our side of the hobby at least) traders, adding their own mark to the show. Mainly from the model rail world, these people have certainly opened up a few new options for 76th scale trucks, scale tree's and scenic materials for the tread heads. And a fantastic tools trader, who will be raided by yours truly tomorrow. Once cash reserves have been replenished via the magic hole in the wall.

Wooks. Saw one Matchbox Tempest but they wanted stupid money for it, so left it be. I noticed later that some schmuck had paid over the odds for it.

day two
Very very quiet on the footfall front. Some traders were rumored to be complaining about the lack of numbers.

For us on the stand a very relaxed day. some brain storming, kits, paints and tools bought. Jaybee wins the prise for the largest box purchased. A new spray booth.

I always hope for the best.

Finally, and as has been reported elsewhere in this forum, Ian Jamieson who has run Jamieson's Models in Saltmarket in Glasgow for the last twenty two years is to retire.
In recognition a presentation was made to him in the form of a caricature showing him in the typical suroundings of the shop, shelves of kits etc from floor to an undefinable upper limt.
He also got a bottle of VERY nice whisky.
