This is the 1/12 kit of the George Pal Time Machine from the 1960 movie.
This is a Reshape/Comet Miniatures kit.

It is a resin kit with lots of largish parts and some amount of metal castings and really nice looking decals

I have started on the chair, which is the easy bit, but the rest is taped together to get an idea of what goes where.
Yes. It is screaming some sort of gimmickery with LED's

Hit the control console with the dremel and got LED's in there.. sadly, one has died or the wire come away and is not working. Any half decent modeller would have pulled it all apart and started again. Apparently I am not one of them :D

Then back to the issue of getting the wiring somewhere where a power supply and gadgets like flashers can be put. Then I hit upon a brainwave, well for me anyway. It comes with white metal framing, let that be the conduit.. easy !
soldered in some wire

Now that's interesting.

First time I saw that film was at my schools film club in the mid 60's. It's always stayed with me mainly for the nuclear attack and aftermath scene. Especially considering when I saw it

Most opulent time machine ever.   (Yes even more than the TARDIS.)
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

That's pretty neat, and will certainly make for an interesting model !

A little stretch lenghtwise to fit a roadster chassis, a steering wheel, a windshield a small engine and some cool wheels and tires...

Thanks Folks.
This build is done, I was just tardy in posting up here
All in all it went together pretty well.
I did do some small mods around covering joins in the frame etc It really does need to painted and decaled in sub builds, lie the console, chair, disk and disk power column.
I replaced all the buttons on chair with brass pins.

So by not using the kit solid lights, I then soldered up some new cages, this is before the clean up. Still a little rough.. but good enough for me

Beautiful decals on the disk

And there we have it

I think the LEDs look great. The chair looks comfy, but if that green disc over the headrest spins it could be a hair ripping experience.
You've made a great looking miniature of the Tame Machine.
