I'm thinking that the Saab J-29 Tunnan would be a nosecone variant. And possibly would become an attack aircraft. what do you say?

Like a Sabre Dog ?

There's a link on what of the 'whiff's you've found' pages of a guy who built a half dozen or so really, and I mean really cool Tunnans !

Well It won't be like the Saber dog, instead it would be like the YF-93 fighter.

So you mean a version with a solid nose and cheek intakes? "Nosecone variant" is a bit vague...

Sounds like an interesting idea, though - halfway between the Tunnan and the Lansen. Go for it!

Difficult... good luck, I'd be interested to see the result.

There was a J-29R (Radar) project, with a thimble radome mounted through the intake lip.  There wasn't as much reshaping as the Sabre Dog, it was more like the Mig-17 SDK

I had a crack at it some years ago but messed it up.  I drilled a hole in the lip and used a bomb (Rockeye, I think, rehaped slightly) to represent the radome.

A more advanced Tunnan with a full radome would be great, maybe as a stopgap if the Lansen was delayed?  The MiG-17 SN is one project I can think of that went from pitot intake to solid nose.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

SAAB did project an al-lweather version of the J-29 which would, as far as I understand, have been the J-29R.

Some time ago Mossie/Simon started this project, but having used superglue as the filler, found that he had real problems trying to sand it down.
He then passed it to me to try and complete it. I WILL eventualy.

Here is what Simon produced.

Even worse than I remember it!!! :o  I've screwed up several builds using superglue as filler, I've only ever pulled it off with one build.  I can't stand the stuff.

Instead of cheek intakes, you might consider a split intake on the underside of the wing, like a Hunter or Grumman Panther.  Looks like the engine on the sabb is far enough aft that leading edge intake could work.

I did just that with my WHIF Baradour II and went from a nose intake to a wing intake.

Opening up the wing with a high speed dremmel wheel,  Victim is a Mystere IV:

New intake, splitter plates from styrene- white parts

Capped off then nose intake, Hawk nose in red as donor, Mystere IV is the fuselage in gray. 1/72

Finished a few months ago, was just posting some in-progress pictures to give you a potential solution for the intakes on a Tunnan.
