I was just thinking : I don't think I ever tried water ! I'm pretty sure I used to try and clean them in my thinner, and it would just gum up or somat. Next time I use the clear I will try water ( now that I know I can always use iso-alc if it doesn't work) and see what happens.

AGREED!  Although I can get more of the smaller ones in the drawers where I store them

Tamiya still sell the acrylics in the 23ml jar, it's up to the shops which size they decide to stock.
