Nice pics and an interesting scenario. Must have been exciting for the troops to train in such an atypical environment  :tank:

The piper photo gave me an idea: you have a totally alien, far-future sci-fi after-the-battle diorama, where nothing is familiar, not the terrain, not the plants, not the uniforms, not the equipment, nothing, except.... the guy playing the bagpipes....

Somewhere I still have a picture from the French navy. It shows a Breton sailor in parade uniform playing a (Breton style) bagpipe while standing on the bow of a French nuclear submarine. Apparently the ship was based in Saint Malo and this was their way of announcing "We're back".

So yea... Ideas for a diorama? A space marine playing the pipes on top of the hatch of his drop ship?

Did Scotty ever get to play the pipes on Star Trek?

As he wasn't a Scot in real I think they would have over-dubbed it, if he had.   :banghead:

I know that but they had Mr Sulu running round with a Katana at one point and Chekov doing a Cossack dance.

Apparently he did, playing 'Amazing Grace' on the pipes on the occasion of Mr. Spocks funeral.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

You may well be right.  It's a long time since I did the run through the entire Original Series.

Spock's funeral and the uniform would make that pic from ST3 - The Search for Spock.  An odd numbered film and therefore not one of the good ones.

Actually its "The Wrath of Kahn". "The Search for Spock" was to find Spock's body!

I also haven't done a run through the movies for a while.

Yes, I remember now, TWoK finishes with Spock's funeral and his body being shot off to the genesis planet inside a modified photon torpedo.
