I'm looking for the egg shaped fairing that covered the DF loops on some aircraft in WWII and just afterwards. I KNOW I've seen one in a kit I've been working with recently, but can I find it? NO chance!  :banghead:

It's the thing I've ringed in the pic of 'Betty Jo' below, and I want one for my Tri-Stang, but only one of them. If anyone can suggest a 1/72 scale kit which contains one I'd be very pleased, and I probably don't need any of you to send me one, I just need to know which kits contain the darn things.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Cheapest kit AFAIK in 1/72 would be Airfix Grumman Duck.

Seems to me most of the AT-6/SNJ kits have one.

Wow, what a superb response, thanks very much gentlemen.

I have every one of those kits par the MPM Blenheim V so I should be OK. And it was the Aeroclub  one that I kept seeing in my mind, but no idea where that might be.

Saw a spare one in my spares stash yesterday, think itis off of the Hampden I did at xmas, happy to send it if required?
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

Thanks for the offers but I dug one out of the first kit that I came across that was listed, an Airfix Grumman Duck. Amazingly I'd already built most of it!

AFAIK the new Airfix Mustangs don't have one, I looked in the Korean War era F-51D kit and couldn't see one.
