A little special Yamato, with a story for it.....  ;D

My GFs birthday is coming close, so I asked her about her birthday wishes.
She said she wants to have some tickets for "Yamato".

Hmmmm......

Do not say this to someone who is interested in ships...... Yamato is of course a Japanese battleship. what else? But what about tickets for it? Or does she mean something different?

In German, the word for ticket is "Karte". Which is also the name for "map". So she wants to have a map of the Yamato? The sinking position? No problem, I made one :)

And I bought a small 1:1200 scale Revel kit of the Yamato which I had to build secretly while she was running around. And a small showcase for it. And obviously a little Godzilla (making it a What-If, as Godzillea never meet the Yamato).

So here is the result of two evenings of secret building (with some support of my engineer of course).

I wonder what she will say if she unwrapps the gift box and finds a ship in it... hope I do not have to run very fast....

Ah, and yes, I got some concert tickets for those Japanese drummers who have the same name like the battleship. Just in case she was talking about them and not the battleship.  ;D

Yes, nice coincidence. But I don't think that they found any traces of Godzilla, at least I have not read anything  ;D

Sir,  I salute you.
Not just for the fact that you have thought so imaginatively for your lady's gift, but also for the modelling idea.

Well, GFs birthday is over now. and I survived...  ;D

When she unwrapped the gift box, her first reaction was "What is this?"

But after she found the tickets, the little Ymato (and Godzilla) are accepted :)

So now we know what Admiral Yamamoto really meant when talking about having awakened a sleeping giant.
