So, today was a lovely, if breezy, day in South NJ, and provided some excellent time to continue the 1:1 scale bus whiffiess in the yard. with some more paint (after scrubbing crud off)-

Curbside will definitely need a full on scrub down later on in the week.

Yes it is.  But, I've got only 4 rows left to pull out.

Last 2.5 rows of the front

I've also (slowly) started tackling the interior sheet metal as well

This was after about 45 minutes of attacking the tack welds with a cold chisel and hammer, while grinding off screws that had stripped heads.

Also pulled the front warning lights, but I'm not 100% thrilled with how their mounting holes are covered.  I'll probably do something different with acrylic laminate

And here's that piece of interior wall panel.  Ye deities, tack welds suck

Looks like hard work.
Why are you removing the panelling?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Nice. Tonnes of room in there eh ?

Very much so. You don't realise until the seats are out. I've seen a Routemaster that was being converted into a hospitality bus (buffet area on the lower deck and seating area on the upper) and was surprised at the space with no seats. I've also seen a couple of Routemaster's that have had their roof's lowered (is the technical term chopped ?). One was deliberate and looked fantastic the other had an accident with the low bridge on S Norwood Hill/Portland Rd and did not
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Indeed there is.  Once all the seats are out, I've got 245 square feet (22.8m2) of total floor space, but because of wheel wells, the driver's compartment and the engine compartment, 192 ft2 (17.8m2) is actually usable.  Some folks decide to raise either a portion or the whole roof, for more headroom, but since I've got 78" of headroom there's no real need, even with how I'm doing the new floor.  When I bought the bus, there *was* a Routemaster for sale in Ohio on fleabay, but since the owner didn't know if it still ran or not, I wasn't going to even consider a bid on it.  Shame, really, because it would make a most unique RV conversion.  Granted they *are* overheight for here and the tour companies that use them turn the upper deck into an open air sightseeing deck.

And the floor plan (which may or may not change)

That's awesome, but where's the modelling area?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Gondor

May I make a suggestion about masking the windows. Use paper from a large roll and tape that the the windows after you mask the edges with tape, far easier than using tape to mask all the windows, saves cleaning the glue off the windows afterwards too.

Its in the plan, Gondor; it was a nice day, I wanted to get some more paint on it, and couldn't find my roll of rosin paper.  It's going to get a full on repaint anyway, once the interior is fully gutted and the windows pulled so that it'll be a consistent International Harvester Blue with black rubrails
