And, something completely random.  An asteroid research base in KSP

2D profiling is down.  My SSD decided it didn't want to work any more this past weekend.  Hopefully it's just the SATA to IDE adapter.  But until I can properly troubleshoot, I am SOL since all my saved and parts files are on that drive.  :-\ :banghead:

Some random contemplations, mainly whilst banging away in World of Tanks:

1) M-18 Hellcat
   a) Replacing the 76 or 90mm open topped turret with either a Bradley or LAVIII turret with TOW
   b) Replacing the Wright Whirlwind with a light turbine or Bradley power package.

2) T29
   a) Mating an Abrams series turret to the chassis
   b) Replacing the 27L V12 with an Abrams series power package (turbine or diesel)
   c) Replace bow M1919A4 .30 cal with an M-240B 7.62mm MG

3) Adding TUSK/and ERA kits to both vehicles

Hellcat with a Bradley turret sounds like a splendid idea.  And I think the baseline M2A2's add-on armour would look great on this as well.

The T29 with an Abrams turret, I'm not so sure about. They might be too different in style, rounded cast hull vs. angular welded turret. At least to my eye. But a turret from an M60A3 (or even the weird M60A2 Starship turret) might look the part.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Today's fun with PVC was building solar power station for the motion lights that cover the driveway

The finished product has three panels on it now, and is mounted on an old DirecTV mount that a previous tenant had attempted to get.

And, of course, as I'm going up and down the ladder, I see our Supervisor Kitty playing H&S observer through the window

The way the wood on your balustrades has weathered is very attractive.

Thanks Fred.  The house is pushing 20 years, and the backyard is the only area the seems to get consistent sun because, well we're in the woods. As you can tell by this Google Earth photo

Cross posted over Fred's blog, griping about not getting anything done despite trying to:

One of those annoying days where I didn't seem to get much done despite spending time trying to do it.

I get that every time I have a great idea for any one of the books I want to write.  Like, whilst listening to the Victory At Sea soundtrack, specifically The Pacific Boils Over, I got the brilliant idea of the following:

The SS United States on a retiree cruise of the South Pacific, through the Caroline Islands enroute to Nauru, gets hit by a cruise missile launched from a Neo-Imperial Japanese Navy Oscar-type SSGN.

Every so often my muse returns from her cavorting in the Pine Barrens with the Jersey Devil.

NARSES2

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nice collection Scoot

Thanks Narses.  16 years active and Guard, the National Guard being equivalent to the Territorials.  And as a Guardsman, we have the choice between Federal only or State and Federal awards and decs when on Active Guard orders.  When I was at Keesler, back in 07-08 for school, some of the non-prior students were like "Holy sh*t!  He's got more awards than a Master Sergeant" on blues days. And all as a junior EM.

Whilst no plastic or digital models for Christmas, I did receive a $60 Amazon gift card.  Which was promptly diminished by ordering a pair of wireless headphones for work, our 2019 Calendar, and the hardcopy Into The Dark.

A sacrilegious thought whilst I was sitting on the Garden State Parkway in Shoobie traffic yesterday (its the official start of Tourist Season this weekend):  Take a 1/1 scale Volvo 245/740 wagon and turn it into a ute.
