I was thinking of doing that to our Ford Fusion. My wife thinks I'm nuts. She's probably right. She usually is.

LOVE the Volvo utes Fred, are they Australian production variants or custom jobs?

I hope the 850 ute has a T5R engine etc.  ;) ;D

I just googled Volvo ute and they came up.
The first one is RHD and that looks like Australian vegetation and number plate.  Second one is LHD and I can't tell on the third.

So much for something sacrilegiously original...but still

I do so like that 850 ute

Like we find so often on this forum, a lot of the things we think are off the wall and completely original... aren't, so much.
We obviously aren't the only set of maniacs in the world... a comforting thought.

I'd actually heard about someone having turned a Rolls into a pickup/ute before.  But not a Volvo ute.

And, in terms of sacrilege:

This one apparently has a a MOPAR V10 out of a Viper swapped in

There's this one I mentioned last year, owned by Lord Bamford of JCB fame.

I think it's pretty smart.

From what I can tell, there are no production Volvo utes.   All the ones online appear to be conversions of Volvo Estate Wagons.
