article on the bbc breakfast news a few month back  ;D
they were making a thing of the fact that one of the new muppets is british

I always sort of assumed Dr Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker were Poms.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

There was a French childrens program with the lyrics "white horses" in the theme tune. I think it was in black and white, what was it about?

I think it was set in the Carmargue,  and the title song included the line "On my horses, snowy white horses, let me ride away....."    Any one know anything more??

Well I vaguely remember it, it was targeted at the female of the species. Now my memory says it was about Lipihanzers (or however they are spelt) in then Yugoslavia, but that my be another memory entirely

I recall something similar too, chris. wasn't it dubbed from Austrian state TV? and wasn't anything like related to Heidi but you thought it was? as I recall a lot of shots with the average late 1800's town buildings in the background.

hmm, one fave programme of mine was ivor the engine, but another was champion the wonder horse [anyone recall that one?]
Keeper of George the Cat.

This show?

The story follows the adventures of a teenage girl Julia (played by Helga Anders) who leaves Belgrade to spend a holiday on a stud farm run by her Uncle Dimitri (played by Helmuth Schneider), where with the help of head groom Hugo (Franz Muxeneder), white Lipizzaner horses are raised.

In the first episode, stallion Boris is stolen by gypsies who dye his white coat brown so that no one will recognise him. Julia and Hugo set off to find Boris and upon his recovery an affinity is formed between girl and horse.

This takes me right back.  I NEED an Argocat...

I remember them!  I last heard their theme played in Canberra in the late 1980s by a pop band which suddenly, in the middle of one of their songs, burst into the Banana Splits theme!   The crowd loved it and when they'd finished it, they just went back to playing their own song!

Yup Ivor was a favourite, lovely and gentle with a nice sense of humour. Also liked Noggin the Nog. Is that still legal ?

In my view these shows were timeless and worked for all ages

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

So maybe either Camargue horses or Lipizzans (Lipizzaners)?

(Not sure if either one has much to do with Yugoslavia)

Lippizana's were original bred in the Slovenian province of the AH Empire that then became part of Yugoslavia post WWI and then Slovenia.
