Somehow I like the look of russian armoured vehicles. So here is a little BRDM-1, which is not in the best maintenance status anymore.

Collection of several russian build vehicles:

The kit is form the Ukraine manufacturer Sigs (1:72) and looks liek a typical short run kit. Parts to not fit good together so its a bit tricky to build. Build OOB and painted with Revell Aqua Color, the rust was added from the Tamiya weathering set.

When the German Bundeswehr was engaged in operation KFOR in 1999, it had a lack or armored vehicles, usable in Kosovo.
Therefore, some of the old NVA vehicles - which were not scrapped or sold - were reactivated and used in the first four years of the operation.

The model shows a old NVA BRDM-2 as it was used in 2001.

The model is a S-Modell kit in 1/72 build OOB. Actually the box contains two models, so there is what happend with the second one. Its quite good to build and has several PE parts includes. Airbrushed with Revell Aqua Color, several decals fomr the spare part box were sued, plus some Paddinghaus ones.

I am really liking the Russian vehicles there. I have a soft spot for them also. The ones I have built have all been a pain to build as they are either ACE kits, or ICM kits, with the odd Trumpeter one thrown in to reel in my sanity. I will have a look for the S model kits of the BDRM-2, to go with my ACE one.

It's funny how threads can just go 'woosh' right over your head !

Nice stuff. I like the little BRDM-1, looks like a sports car !

The 1/72 ICM kits are fiddley but fit OK.
I have one of their 1/72 snap fit full detail 6 wheel Mercedes staff cars to whiff at some stage.

Quite a while ago, I made a simple Airfix Duck OOB:

And then got the idea to make one as it is used in a Duck Tour.

So lets start with this:

If you build some of the UK Duck Tours then they will need to be half sunk  :o

Love the old Duck. What a neat machine. Sure would be fun on a camping trip lol. Look forward to seeing yours !

Ducks are somehow cool :)

To start with, the chassis is quite unchanged (until this point):

Will add passenger seats on the rear part (found some nice one in the spare part box, taken from a Ju 52).

Sadly the kit was already damaged in the "box", see the lower part of the vehicle.

A Duck-Tour vehicle needs some seats for the passengers. So this is where i started:

Seats were taken from an Italeri Ju52 kit. I guess this will be a "1st-class" Duck, as it has less seats (and more legspace) than a normal Duck-Tours duck :)

Between the last row of seats, a little ladder has been added, so passengers can get into the passenger area.

Looking good.  Will it have a canopy with stripes and a fringe?

It will get a roof, but I have to see how to make it.
Colours will be Red&White - it should be a Cologne Duck Tours vehicle (would be a nice idea if we had such a tour here in Cologne) and those are the cities colours.

If some vehicle maker reinvented the DUKW I bet they would sell a bunch to the tour operators so they could modernize their fleets. Yours is looking good.
