Tail's on. I actually thought I'd put it on wrong but no that's the right way ! Need to add a bit of filler to make the join 'clean'.

Slapped a bit of paint over the filler on the fuselage to check for blemishes and it looks good.

And the same for the nose which need a little filler just to fit right.

Before I went to work yesterday I gave the fuselage a quick spray of primer and happily all that putty has come out bump free.

Finished work late last night so not a real chance to do much other than spray Gloss White on to the fuselage.

Honest it is white - I think the camera flash doesn't show it's true colour.

Another photograph this morning after seeing the one from last night and this time we have white but it's slightly out of focus Aaaaaghhh !

One last thing getting ready for tonight. I print-copied the decals on to paper and they will act as a template for the actual decals. Fortunately the decals are the same width all along up to the cockpit curve. I'll use the 'tail' end ones first and hopefully won't have to cutout too many of the black window ovals.

That looks SO pretty!

Make or break time....  Fitted the paper template. Needs some work on the nose but I have a plan (and the nose cone will be painted black).  Last passenger window is approximately where the yellow tape is so the 'Middle East blah will be readable.

Tonight I will be decalling the fuselage. If you don't hear from me tomorrow .... it's gone horribly wrong !

That's looking really good! Great work with adapting the decals.

Very nice build. The colours are spot on too, reminding me of the Lebanese(?) Sparvieros.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Trying to get this done in the time available is looking good. Thought I'd struggle with the decals but they have gone on really quite well.

This is the first pass. Decals in place but needing a trim.

As you probably can see they are still wet from a coating of DecalFix.

After a piece of steak and a chat with the wife it's time to trim the dried decals. Windows first then the cockpit area. I then trimmed the area in front of the cockpit and added a shaped piece of decal. Also added the MEA decal above the windows and the wing decal.

Tonight will be tackling the cockpit canopy and adding emergency exit decals etc.. If all goes well I may even glue the wings on !

I do like this one, battered old bombers pressed into airline service.  It's looking great Bungle.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Really pretty, now reminding me of a baby Constellation ;D.

If anyone had told me that a 1/144 Comet decal would fit a 1/72 scale ANYthing I'd have said they were nuts.  :o

But that fits like a dream, super job.

1/144 Comet decal would fit a 1/72 scale .......

Ah fooled you... they are 1/72nd scale and they are only the front and tail sections. The passenger cabin decals are unused !

May be it's better to show it graphically....

I'm loving this build
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

This is looking brilliant. C'mon, almost there!
