I suppose the backstory here is to produce an aircraft as a back-up to the Komet, a fast climbing interceptor. Started quite early this morning as insomnia's got it's grip on me:

...and YES, they fit:

Twin V-1 Argus engine emplacement. I cut a blank out of plasticard to fill the supercharger panel and sanded that smooth. Love acrylics as they dry so fast. Cockpit prepared:

....and slapped on the putty. Finding, cutting, sanding and fitting the lower blanking plate led to a lot of blank blank blank expletives. I'll do some sanding later when it's all dry:

Enough for today. Sanded and primed....might fiddle with u/c etc if sleep eludes me:

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I've always avoided Luft46 subjects so I'm a bit nervous about this....out of my comfort zone. There's an emblem that translates "Like a Flea but WOW" I'd like to do one with Elephant instead ;D. I'm exhausted....

That'd be 'Wie ein Floh, aber OHOH!' the motto of 2/JG400, the Me 163 unit.

If it was like an elephant it'd be ''Wie ein Elefant, aber OHOH!'  ;D

Achieved very little today. Cut, shaped and fitted rear control surfaces and then had some fun making air intakes with drop-tank halves, plasticard and mesh...want them to look V-1y:

Not happy with the mesh, might revisit it later.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

She's in the paintshop, putting me through several levels of hell with masking etc. Post a pic tomorrow. In the meantime had some fun putting together a kind of RATO parachute pack for the underside:

Cool project!

What's that twin rail launcher?
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Librarian

I couldn't swear to it but I think it was part of a Maverick launcher from an A-10 kit, Monogram.

ChernayaAkula

The cut-out in the middle was what threw me off. Looking at some sprue pics online, I think you're right, those are indeed the upper rails of a triple Maverick launcher.
Cheers,
Moritz
