I was going to use the rotor from the Puma, but I'm missing a blade. :banghead:  I had it not long ago, but I can't find it anywhere.

If you don't get this finished in time Simon, I can send you a spare blade or two but there's no way to get them to you this week I'm afraid.  I bought a ""mystery"' box of kits at a recent LMS closing down sale, and it had a Airfix Puma in the bunch of kits I got. And as I already have another in the stash, this one could be broken down for spare parts.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Just take the Sea King blades and trim them off a bit.

Thanks guys!

Cheers for the offer Robert, but I actually went out and bought a Tamiya SH-60B Sea Hawk kit yesterday!  The idea was to get it together as quick as possible so I didn't want to trim the blades.  As it turns out I think I might have to anyway, even with the Sea Hawks blades.  It also gave me a few other parts that were useful.

Ah, unfortunately the engine housing isn't the same on my build!  I've gone with side pods nicked from a Mangusta model.  They look a little small, but I'm hoping to add some kind of IR suppressors to bulk them out a bit.

I'm certain I won't finish this on time.  I was expecting it to be a 'plug and play' build but I'm doing a lot more scratch-bashing than I thought.  I've been working into the wee-hours and to be honest I'm just knackered!  I might just continue with this one or put a super-quick build together before the deadline.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

You might not finish in time, but it's been a good excuse to get a thought into a build ! And you might as well bash an easy build together in the meantime....might actually help get this one done quicker.

That's very true.  I've had a distinct lack of mojo for well over a year, I've started plenty an finished and nothing.  This build has reminded me that I can just problem solve a build as I go.

I'll have a look at what I've got for a blitz build....

Careful, when you force yourself to build something it can turn into work! We all have plenty of that to do anyway.

That's inspiring and makes me wonder if I could bash Hawker Hawk trainer (very close shape to the Pucara if you delete the air intakes!) with some heli components for a fast attcka helicopter...? Earmarked for the long idea/project list!

The One Week builds really can get you out of the modelling doldrums so glad it has Mossie

Must admit if I find my motivation lacking I grab a nice simple kit from the stash and build it out of the box for a nice quick build. Gives me the motivation for more messy ones
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yes, that's kind of what happened.  I'm enjoying it, but I was just worn out and that's not what it's about.

Cheers Chris, I thin it's what I needed, a modelling kick up the backside!

Just a thought that struck me. Maybe mash up a Hawk with parts from the wacky Italeri Mi-28? But that will be another story and not materialize on short notice...

Ha ha!  Okay guys, you've got my arm up my back, I'll get onto it as soon as the 1WGB is over.

Right now, I've got an OOB Hawker Sea Hawk on the go, I'll open a thread shortly.
