Cheers! The reason I ask is that I'm looking to British-ize a JH-7A at some point, and Jaguar-style guns are an obvious thing to consider. This means that I can use an Italeri Jag as a donor and still have a buildable kit once the guns have been nicked.

STOL Jaguar V, French Air force. 

Realizing that the VTOL Mirage VIII would never make it to production, France still desired a largely French product to allow operations from dispersed strips and roadways.  France asked SEPECAT to come up with a STOL version of the Jaguar, with a single lift jet replacing the rear crew member in the two seat version.  A single non- after burning Adour eased maintenance commonality with the main engines. The lift jet also provided bleed air for blown flaps.

Lift was also augmented with thrust deflecting paddles behind the main engines. These were nicknames "boules de sucre" (sugar scoops) by ground crews.

Although the aircraft could not operate in VTOL flight mode, it had outstanding short field capability.   

Development of the Jaguar V went surprising quickly by using a early pre-prodcution two seater for trials.  The type saw use with one training and three front line squadrons, and chalked up some interesting export orders as well.   

 
















Whew, finished.  Life really interfered with this one.  Afraid she is a good as she will get given the deadline.  Had 2 paint failures, and atrocious tape residue.  Would have been a re-strip under normal conditions.   Not my proudest work by far, but fun to build in the GB.

That turned out well: nice one! I like the battered underside: very remeniscent of the Yak-141 prototype.

Thank you all- I figured with the lift jet and deflcted thrust of the main engines she would be very dirty underneath, so went with a heavy wash of burnt umber on the belly.  I also think she would have been quite a runway killer with all that jet blast 

Also put on smaller external fuel tanks knicked from a hawk kit.  Figure weight would be an issue in STOL mode-  Don't tell anyone the tanks are unpainted- thus the challenges of a one week bulid!

Obviously an experimental polystyrene coating for external stores....

Maybe not your best, but under the circumstances, pretty darn good ! Love the look of it. Had to do a double take after the second pic as I didn't even notice the front engine ! Came out really well, and another one for my idea bank.
