Maybe I should have used what TSRJoe's Finnish friend Henne suggested (she used it to good effect)...........Polish Spirit

Well yes I have sampled it, a tiny wee drop, I have a small bottle of it, and I now only use it for igniting the Christmas pudding.

Now a quick word about the Platz kit.
In all aspects it is superb, like all their other stuff, 1/144 which sells out so fast that I have only ever managed to get one of the P-51D kits, and their 1/72 UAV/UCAS kits.
In this kit you get two very nice GBU-32 1,000lb JDAM's which I suspect would not be carried by the Blue Angels as they would expect a positive response from their audience.

Wow! That's a display I'd like to watch :o.

Oh wow, that's beautiful! I chuckled when I saw the "news story" last week, and I'm so glad you modelled it - especially considering this is a halfway-into-a-1WGB, this is an excellent model!!!

BTW when I saw your photo of the closed weapons bays I actually did the googly-eyed-smilie face! Superb fit!

Well, lots of hands going up in the air could be considered a positive response. Whether they're still attached to arms is just nitpicking...  ;)

What's with the 'saluting wingtip' Jim? Do they fold in the kit, or....?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes kit. The real X-47 has folding wings, it is carrier based, and you do get the options in the kit.
It is just different inserts for joining the outer wings to the body.
For the sake of the photos I used latex glue/masking fluid to join them, rather precariously, together, so that they could subsequently be separated.
My original plan was for the final configuration to be with both wings extended, but having looked at the photos I think it looks better with the sarboard wing in the "saluting" position. You get to see the underwing markings that way.
Incidentally the Blue Angels marking came from the Hasegawa TA-4J kit, and some of them were very unwilling to separate from the backing sheet.
I had to shout at them "you are NOT decals, you are transfers, so tranfer from one place to the other", it seemed to work.
