Late starter, no pics yet. The Roden 1:72 kit, amazing detail, tiny plane!

The idea is that the Poles manage to get their hands on some factory fresh D1s that have just been sat in the open for a few months after the end of ww1 slap some red markings on and equip a fighter bomber squadron with them.

Hope I manage to finish it, just spent an hour assembling the engine! It was 4 seperate pieces and about the size of the end joint of my little finger. It fits in the top of a 15ml pot...

Interesting idea. The old WWI Eastern Front is a fascinating place for speculation on what could or might have been

I think technically post WW1...

Yes indeed. I didn't get my meaning across at all and reading again I'm not surprised  :banghead: I meant equipment from the old Eastern Front protagonists used post war. Just didn't say it.

Oh yes indeed! I'm fascinated by the possibilities of an equivalent of luft46, luft19?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

NEVER use Humbrol Gloss White, it's neither Gloss nor White.......

It's a great little kit! So much detail, being used to airfix the thinness of some if the parts was scary. Some really tiny parts too.

[excuse]One thing to note about the Polish D.Is is that they modified the aileron control linkages to be on the underside of the wing to smooth flow over the top surface and improve love speed roll control (the linkages were found to cause early separation of the flow leading to some unfortunate landing accidents).
This has been faithfully recreated on this model, you just can't see them...honest.[/excuse]
