Found a hotel literally just down the road from the museum

Handy, which one is that please Chris?

It's the Chace hotel Kit. Looks good, although how you get a modern, Victorian hotel is interesting  Was it modern in 1854 ? I know what they mean but it's just one of those things that jars on me.

Anyway here's the website. http://www.corushotels.com/coventry/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=chace%20hotel%20coventry&utm_campaign=Brand+-+The+Chace+Hotel

Booked hotel and train today

Thanks, I've passed by that en route to the Museum before, from the Ibis hotel that I've stayed at! The Chace looks a lot more homely I must say.  ;D ;D

Looking forward to this one, will be attending with Jon Davies and Dave Little as usual, but will probably not be staying over as we normally do, have to settle for an early start Sunday morning. Have a couple of new whif items which might be on interest to, just waiting to confirm they will be cast in time before I say what they are.

Right all being well, and dependent on what time the hotel serves breakfast I should be there about 9-00ish. Looking forward to catching up with people

the stand is now set up ready for tomorrow. We are located in the Robin hanger again this year.
I always hope for the best.

gates open for set up around 7.45am and will close about 9.30ish after that its pay at the door.

The museum have apparently arranged for the railway peoples field next door to be open for parking as well for exhibitors.

What Chris said, it was a brill day, even though the wind was giving it some. Excellent models all over the place and a good set of trader's stands too.

Oh yes, the ham and cheese toasties are to DIE for!

Yes a very good day. My favourite "model" was of the Ballet. A guy had done a boxed diorama of a scene from a ballet using flat figures and the painting and lighting was absolutely superb. Spent a nice 20 mins with the guy reminiscing about the art of flat figures as we used to use them for wargamming back in the early 60's ,it was the only way to get historical figures back then. Used to get a couple from shows (most came from Germany), drop them in plaster of Paris and then use the school's furnace to melt aluminium, from old milk bottle tops, and cast them. Metal work master had no problem as they were for the school wargaming club  ;D

Had an interesting trip there and an even better one back !

Going was ok until I tried to walk from hotel to show. The A45 roundabouts are bad enough for cars but for pedestrian's ?  :banghead: There was no way you could get to Rowley Rd without walking along a dual carriage way for 500 yards or so. In the end a local advised me to cut through a garage forecourt, jump a small wall and cut up a side road - sorted

Getting back ? Mike M dropped me at Coventry Station and the train got to Euston 10 mins early. Took 58 mins Coventry to London  All my connections slotted into place and I got home at 18:35. About 2hrs 15mins after leaving the show ???

When I got home after the show I found some clown had backed into my car and dinged the tailgate at about waist height! I didn't see it when I was loading up as the back of the car was in shade and it's a darkish colour but in the sunlight at home it was all too obvious.

I suspect it was the guy who parked at 90 deg to me in a L-R Discovery, he didn't seem to know what he was doing when he parked up, and the ding is at around the same height as his spare wheel carrier, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
