Oh yes, some SERIOUS horsepower on those wings!

A cracking 'melding' job there Ericr.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Is it an optical illusion or are the propellers a bit too big? As they look as though they would churn the water when taxiing or landing.

According to me, the explanation of these big propellers is that they are both aerial and marine, for plane speed in the air and ship speed in water. The whif world in our minds is more funny than the sad one outside. ;) ;D

One of those shots does make them look a little big, but it is an optical illusion.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

As the engines are from a B-50 kit, they're P&W R-4360s, so they ARE big!

(to remember, I write down what is in the topic title now but will disappear at the next model: this is a mix of S-43 & Cant Z501) <_< ;D
