Decided to do a quickie build to fend off ennui.

Dragon 'Black Label' 1/700 DDG1000 Zumwalt as it sits after about an hour of work.
Fit is really good except for the bow bulge, it'll need a bit more fettling and a lick of filler.
RAM bricks are way overdone.   :banghead:

Promising.  How about painting the bricks like, well bricks and mortar and making a tiled or thatched roof?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

They are a tad overdone, looks more like they used an existing tool from something associated with model railway scenery

Its like the molded in Aztec pattern on the old AMT/Ertl 1701/1701-A kit.  :-\

I do find steath ships (and most aircraft) to be a bit boring to look at.  Modern submarines also- just not many interesting bobs, and goodies to look at.  A modern 1/700 submarine is also a pretty boring build- with like 10 pieces.

So JCF do have some WHIF plans for her?

Nah, if inclined that way I'd paint the tiled areas like stone blocks, the rest of hull and superstructure as wood planked
and turn the gun turrets into trebuchets. Of course then I'd have to add several banks of oars.

And yes, I have actually considered all of the above.  ;D

PR19_Kit

What about the 4-stack funnels as well? Not to mention the odd mast or three?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That'd be for the USS New Dunderberg variation.  ;D

Cool. It might be rather boring in stealth mode, but I'm sure you could open up all sorts of hatches and doors and have missiles at the ready etc. And a choppa.

The bricks remind me of the space shuttle.

Do it! You know you want to!   And a tethered hot air balloon for long-range observation on the helo deck.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Captain Canada

It would blend in pretty good in some foreign ports like that !

Ya know, cut down the forward hull and superstructure, add a pair of funnels and turrets, and it might make a passable Admiral-class pre-dreadnought battleship

Interesting you posted those pics Scoot. I was only just thinking that I find the hull form of a lot of modern warships quite anachronistic looking
