Lovely piece of art by Wilf Hardy depicting the evolution of swing-wings:

Can anyone identify the aircraft top left?

Librarian

Many thanks....some potential there ;D.

Captain Canada

Neat stuff....never seen the extending wing before.

There was a post war German glider which had variable span wings like that too.

There's an FS model of it which I had back in my FS98 days but I can neither remember its name nor find the FS model now.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Extending wings? Surely our own Pr_19 Kit has already patented that idea ;D

NARSES2

Now that is interesting. I'd seen a photo/read about the MAK 10 family (Osprey Encyclopedia of Russian Aircraft) but the picture of the captured example is a first. Thanks Logan
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Happy to help, Narses.

Cheers,
