Me 265 G like Gustav



in March 1943 Messerschmitt  proposed a new Heavy multirole fighter to the Reichsluftfahrtministerium ( Ministry of Aviation ) based on Me262 The P.1099
the project was direct response to the Boeing B-29 Superfortress and the need for cover of the now undergoing flight tests  long range Bomber ( The Amerika Bomber )
the Me 266 entered production for record braking time of 85 days



the G variant

is the two seat heavy multirole fighter variant of the 266 with pressurized cockpit and 2 Junkers Jumo 005D-1 engines with 2200lbs each maximum speed of 900km/h

armament :
Guns: 2 × 30 mm FPL 110  cannons in a  radio controlled nose turret  2x FPL 151 in remotely controlled turrets  and 2 x 30mm MK103 placed in the rear of the canopy
Rockets : 4 x Ruhrstahl Ru 356 X-20 guided missiles

Very nice. I like the funky engines on the first one. The paint on the second one looks great, is the third one awaiting paint and/ or markings ? Neat aeroplanes for sure.
