Slow progress here. Fitting the canopy, as anyone who has built any of the old Airfix 1/144 airliners is not easy. In this case it is one of the worst I have ever tackled.
Not only does it not fit in, but then it does not fit!
I have had to resort to cutting off the cockpit roof, glueing the canopy in place as best as I can, glueing the roof back on, fairing the roof back in with PSR, and now I am waiting for the Krystal Klear to dry so that I can get the canopy masked. However it looks like it will take some more applications of KK before I can even attempt that.
No worries, there are still two and a bit weeks to go.

Worse case is to fill the whole lot in and paint the windows black.

Or use decal windows, I  do that with many of my airliners.

One of the great things about this forum is that if you have a problem there is likely to be someone here who can help.
My recent problem with the 707's cockpit windows is a case in point.
I decided to go down the route of filling in and getting transfers to replicate the glazing, but where was I going to get transfers to do the job.
Well a quick PM to our resident Airliner modeller, transfer maker, and wing stretcher, PR19Kit provided the answer.
Within just a few days this transfer sheet arrived.

Don't you just love the logo at the left hand side.

Only too glad to help out Jim.

This Forum, although scattered worldwide, is a lot friendlier than many model clubs I've been in, so if some of my esoteric talents can solve some other's problems that's all to the good.

I wouldn't advertise that, otherwise you'll be inundated with hundreds of requests for decals to be printed...... Mainly from me :D

This thread makes me wonder if you just happen to have a set of windows for a Super VC-10 by any chance Kit? They would save me a few pennies with one of my projected builds.

Sure, no problem. And the windscreen and doors as well.

Only trouble with asking Kit that question without being specific is you're never quite sure if the answer is Yes for decals, yes for model spare parts or yes actual parts off a VC-10 because you can usually guarantee that if he doesn't have 'em he probably knows somebody that does

That may be a good idea, or not if I get swamped with requests.......

See said you would need to be specific where Kits concerned  ;D

Anyway back on topic it  looks like those decals should resolve Jaybee's build issues with the Airfix kit, quite looking forward to the completed 707 R1 now
