Lots of aircraft have "special anniversary" schemes.
Here's some ideas that, perhaps, need replicating in plastic!!

Tornado ADV F.7 (the one with improved stuff and a single pilot) in SEAC colours for VJ Day. Dark Earth/Dark Green/Medium Sea Grey with white ID bands.
Tornado  ADV F.7 in SEAC colours, but silver with dark blue ID bands. For VJ day again.

RAAF Mirage 111O in Dark Green with White Tail ID, for VJ day.

Lots of ideas....what about the RNZAF for VJ Day?

B2 Spirit in Enola Gay scheme for August 6th?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Not really practical with a B-2 due to its stealth coatings and markings tend to be on the gear bay doors, However a B-52 would fit the bill nicely

I love the Tornado ideas Terry. I'm a big fan of the F so I'd love to see your F.7 !

Just glued the u/c on the Tornado.
1/72nd ADV Italeri kit with a few additions/alterations. It's now a single-seater.
It'll be SEAC with White ID bands and appropriate markings.
Delayed finish though, as we're away again for the weekend at a PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Also thought of a RNZAF A-4K in the various F4U schemes.
Celebrating VJ Day in 1985.

Quite like the idea of a B-52 in 8th AF markings as part of a VE Day celebration....Natural metal, nose art, etc...
There's a BRIGHT PINK B-2 Spirit on the Ace Combat site, with lots of upperwing artork. Very tempting!!

how about something that don't get any real anniversary screams like a RC135 rivet joint  in the black overall and naked nose art of the b 17g Tondalayo a special ops type which had a slimmer role in 1945 to commemorate the issuing of two postumas CMH to the crew in 2001

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

RNZAF A4 in a Corsair scheme is a great idea - how about also a Strikemaster in a Kittyhawk-style scheme, Green with the White tail and stripes?
A later iteration of "Wairarapa Wildcat" maybe...

Lots of ideas for 'Heritage' or commemorative schemes - I quite fancy something WW2 in a WW1 scheme - Messerschmitt or Focke Wulf in part-Lozenge, maybe a Spitfire in Camel markings?

How about an idea from a Commando comic: RAF or Luftwaffe aircraft in pre-War racing colours?
Spit in BRG or Me109 in White...

Ideas, ideas - darn it, Terry, now I may just have to get more stuff just for these schemes...  :banghead: :banghead:

Cheers

I thought of one at the Coventry Show y'day that involves an  RAF Typhoon, jet powered 21st century version, painted like a 1944 piston powered version, with a few extra bits and bobs..........  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

DDG 1000 USS Zumwalt in white and gold-buff scheme in company with CVN-71 USS Theodore Roosevelt
circa 2032 for the 125th Annivesary of the Cruise of the Great White Fleet.

Wait, that sounds familiar ... Oh yeah, that's what I'm doing with the Dragon Black Label kit.  ;)
