So, I'm looking to make an Austrian Mirage F1, and I want to use a decent kit, almost OOB. Any suggestions?

Thorvic

Well there are plenty of options, Heller, Airfix, Esci, & Hasegawa. Although possibly the Hasegawa is the only one that's currently available at the moment. The Esci kit if you can find it is probably the best of the bunch however MPM/Special Hobby have a kit in the works that's due for release, just not sure when  :banghead:.

If you dig up a 1st generation Heller kit you get two optional noses for the single- and two seater as bonus (always intersting whif fodder). This was later omitted, and Heller sold separate F.1 versions. The kit is pretty old, though, with raised panel lines, but IMHO still a good representation.

I've only built the Heller version, and as said it's old but builds into a nice kit. Maybe wait as Thorvic said.

Thanks, guys, I'll be waiting either way, lol. Are there aftermarket Austrian Air Force decals?

I think I have some Austrian markings from a Revell Typhoon. PM me your mailing address - I'll check tonight.
