I hope to have two new 1/72 releases ready in time. Based on a Saunders Roe brochure, a complete kit of the SR.177 ground attack and reconaissance version of my earlier export fighter release with new parts added. The brochure proposed removing the HTP fuel and rocket motor, replaced with a ram air turbine APU, fitted wing tip mounted rocket pods and a duel purpose Lightning style belly pack. The belly was capable of carrying camera's and 910 litres of fuel, or 1135 litres of fuel only. New parts consist of the belly pack, rocket pods and new APU tail. Special thanks to Paul Martell-Mead for his help with this.

Also due for release will be an EE P.23 Lightning conversion fitted with two Genie ungulded nuclear missiles. Designed to fit the Airfix Lightning F.2A/F.6 base kits, but could also easily be adapted to fit the Sword F.1/3.

For some more info on the recce pack see Paul's earlier post http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,22716.0.html

Thanks,
Colin

Ohh Nice Colin

Can you put me down for a set of each, but they will have to be posted as I won't be able to make the show  :banghead:

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I know what you mean, I've been looking for a new job for a while, man cannot live by model aircraft alone you know! Fingers crossed we both get something.

A pair of nice Genies would be good for all sorts of whiffy things. I've picked up a few F-89s to get the Genies from them, but some of the mouldings are very poor.

Agree, I will be selling the Genies on their own to (but not in time for the show), best kit one I've seen were in the Revell-Monogram Voodoo, but I think they were a bit undersize?

I got two sets of test cast samples for the new parts, these consist of 2x wing tip rocket pods, modified tailcone with RAT doors added, belly pack, optional outer wing pylons and a bonus 2000 lb Target Marker bomb to be carried asymmetrically under the port wing inner pylon, with a fuel tank starboard. The bomb is a supersonic Red Beard, proposed for external carriage on the TSR2, featuring a more pointed nose.

I will try and post a picture of the new bits before the weekend.

Again, that supersonic Red Beard would be nice as a separate item.

I think I am going to have to look out Squadron markings or nicknames with Hair or Hare associated with them  ;D
