I'm going to add more Adam Savage videos to a common thread rather than posting them individually from now on: makes them easier to find.

This is a short vid about his modelmaking tool boxes that he made while at ILM. Unfortunately it doesn't go into a lot of detail since they're making the posters of the boxes available to "premium members" (i.e. ones who pay for extras). Still interesting though:

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Run out of steam I think. Adam's been saying things about getting too old for it on his podcasts for a while now, and Jamie has always preferred building things to talking about them on camera.

Kari, Tori and Grant have been out of it since last year anyway. A decision was made to cut the show back to just Adam and Jamie in order to go into more depth about fewer myths. That MIGHT have lead to declining ratings which have resulted in the cancellation, although I don't know for sure. From the interviews, I get the impression that Jamie and Adam didn't make the decision to cancel the show, rather it was presented to them and they didn't fight it.

Kari and Tori are doing something else called Thrill Factor on US TV, but I don't know much about it.

I had already heard that Jamie was not going to do the live shows after this year so that would have also been a deciding factor, but as people have been saying Jamie prefers to be behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera so it was really only a matter of time.

The end results are really nice, and while Adam's is, I think, the winner, I'd have been very happy to have produced Norm's myself. It's nice to see that Norm (who's basically a computer-guy) has been genuinely learning and developing his skills. :thumbsup:
