Humbrol do a pale looking Sky too.

I have no idea what the code no. is as my tin lid has been handily painted red. [It's a long story......]

90. And 23 is a good alternative, too.

NARSES2

I have an old tin of 90 in the collection  Ta

A wise choice.  Now, I know I've an ice cream tank to finish but would you be miffed if I joined the Comet fray with one done in the scheme worn by Spitfire PR.XIIIs - Extra Dark Sea Grey, Extra Dark Sea Green and PRU Mauve?

Given the speed of my builds you know it probably won't get done until Christmas!

I've no problem with you joining in.

Which years Yuletide are we talking about ?  ;D

Mad a little progress between working on the other kits nearer completion and started to work on the nose wheel bay and a very simple cockpit interior. Checked the canopy and there is not a frame in sight ! Suits me as it saves having to sand them off and polish  ;D

Hmmmm, I may pull mine out again and recommence PSR.

Har, har Chris. Just remember I know roughly where you live!

I think I will do the Comet but outside this GB as an 'inspired by NARSES2' build.

No finesse!    More subtle is a model left on the doormat with the wings pulled off.   It's much more threatening.........

If he has some RAF connections, with that Vulcan flying all over the place, the job wouldn't be so difficult... ;D

Right progress.

As I said before we got into Camotint and nuking Croydon  ;D I've carved out the cockpit and today I built and painted up a very simple insert for the void. Floor, seat, stick and instrument panel. I also cut out the nose wheel well and boxed it in as well as drilling and backing two holes to represent the camera ports. When I looked at the engine nacelles the radiator openings are open on one half of each nacelle and solid on the other half  Anyway they are now opened up and backed. This kit really should be consigned to the great model shop in the sky.

I may give her a different undercarriage arrangement, single legs rather then the struts she has at the moment. At the very least I will beef the undercarriage up as it's a remarkably thin piece of moulding and doesn't look very strong at all. The fuselage is joined and I've realised I've put no weight in the nose  :banghead: Oh well cue to construct a simple base  ;D

Still not sure about the propellors ? I have some spare early Hurricane 3 bladed ones (indeed I have many) and may trim the length of those a little bit and use those. We shall see

Right fairly quick progress on this. The major sub-assemblies are complete. Fusalage doesn't need much filler at all, just some to the rear of the canopy where I've extended the spine - she will be a single seater. Engines are added to the wings and in all honesty they only needed some P.P.P. at the join to fill the gap. That now has some more added to cover the shrinkage of the original application. I've cut the canopy so I can pose it open and by heck it must be 4mm thick !!! Found a suitable nose gear leg and wheel in the spares box and have decided to go with the existing undercarriage arrangement. Should get the wings mounted tomorrow and they will need some plastic strip in the join prior to P.P.P. Propeller/spinner combination is made. used cut down Hurricane blades with the existing Comet spinner.
