And we have something looking like a Phantom...

I've been quiet but i've been whiffing...  ;D Not sure if i'll be able to finish this one before the end of this month, which is when the what if GB on the Portuguese forum ends but i'm not going to rush it just for that, i wanna look at it and feel like i've done all i wanted like i wanted to, including some more weathering.
I don't want to make it look like a graveyard piece, i want to give it that in service, mid life look, faded and dirty but not too sloppy... Don't know if i'm getting the idea across but i think you guys get it.

I think it's coming out ok, but obviously, far from perfect. Still, i'm enjoying the build a lot and i'm quite pleased with how some things are coming out.

On the homefront, still waiting for the final answer regarding the loan but i've a feeling that this week i'll have some news, let's just hope it the good kind of news...

 thanks for the support, guys! I'm not a very nervous guy but i've been feeling a bit anxious about this. The lady from the bank who evaluated the house last week said that we'd have an answer by the end of this week so, i've been checking my phone every 5 mnts when i'm at work to see if i missed their call...

Regarding models... Last night i started putting the markings on the Phantom and i started with the sharkmouth from the Hi decal line sheet and it didn't go very well. Not sure if it was my clumsyness or if the decals are just too fragile. I'll have to try to fix the damage done with a paintbrush and a steady hand...

Well, i've managed to finish the decals last night... quite a bunch of them.
Didn't make the Portuguese forum's GB deadline which was yesterday but there's been too much on my mind and not enough time for model building so things are going slow.
Still have to give it another gloss coat and a panel line wash, paint, gloss and apply decals on the missiles, and it's on to final assembly!

Hopefully, in a few days, i'll be able to get this ready and onto the display shelf.
So, after the Phantom is finished i only have the real world PoAF F-16A and B on the bench so, time to have a look through the stash...

Regarding the house, the loan has been accepted!! All that's left to do is a medical checkup and then it's just signing the papers for the house to be mine!!
Medical checkup will be on the 12th so, if all goes well, i hope that we'll be signing the papers by the end of March.

Thanks, Chris! Me and Milady can't wait to have the keys so we can begin moving our things into the house. Now that we've had confirmation, i can also start making plans for my new mancave....

Yup, it's just a formality for us but the Portuguese banks have some rules that were imposed by the IMF because of too many unpaid debts. And we're not exactly in our 20s anymore, I'm 39 and Milady's 38 so, as the risk of terminal illness increases, so does the risk factor for the loan to be fully paid for.
Not a problem, though it does delay things a bit more but we'll have to do it anyway so, just one more month and we'll be there... :drink:

And I thought we were the Nanny State!

:o

Our banks care so little about the health of their customers that they will even continue charging them when they are dead.

I think you guys are getting the wrong idea cause i didn't use the correct term for what this appointment is going to be... We're not going to do any medical exams, it's going to be just a simple talk to the doc to give them our medical history. At least that's what the lady at the bank said it would be so, no big deal.
I'm pretty sure they'll do the same here if things aren't taken care of quickly after a client dies. They're leaches, that's what they are but, unfortunately, most people of the working class here in Portugal needs them when it comes to something like this and of course, they're in it for the profit so, as we say here, they've got the knife and the cheese in their hands...
The reality is that the IMF imposed a lot of restrictions and requirements for the banks to give out loans because of the Portuguese debt. But it's been worse, now they're granting 90% for a house which is better than the 80% they were granting last year.
Anyway, now that we know the house is going to be ours, we're much more relaxed, it won't be very long now. We'd been visiting houses for over 6 months now so, it's easy to wait just another month.
I won't be starting any new builds at this moment, i've got the pair of PoAF Vipers on the go and i probably won't be able to finish them before i move.
I still have to finish the Phantom so, i've got enough on my hands for now.

Damn, dude! I'm loving the Phantom.

I swear.... man...   (and I always bring this up, I can't help it....   ;D ;D   )   some people talk about how ugly phantoms are but I just don't see it!!!!!! I mean.. it's not a "beauty queen" but I the look is so, so appealing to me!  And then you dress 'er up in some good camo and it's even better.

Congratulations on the home..... that's killer! Now I know where to go when I find myself penniless and in Portugal.  ;D
