Congratulations to you & your wife!

Marriage? It has its ups & its downs but, on balance, my experience has mostly been ups (Just don't tell SWMBO that! ;) ).

Congratulations to the pair of you

Glad you had a good time on Honeymoon, should be nice and relaxed for facing the families  ;)  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Congratulations mate.  May you have great happiness and peace in your shared life.

Thank you, gentlemen!
We didn't really need the "official" confirmation, we both joke about it saying we only did it to have the vacation days and fiscal benefits... ;D
I already had the ring and was working to create the occasion to propose but when she had the 3rd miscarriage, although she's a strong woman, i was afraid that it would affect her mental health and it was the only thing i could think of to keep her from dwelling on negative thoughts.
It worked and i'm glad i did it. We already had a late start at life as a couple in our late 30s so, why wait any longer? There's no doubt in what we have, it was just the legal aspect that really changed.
And we obviously have our good and bad days but all i can say is that we have a good thing going and respect is the top priority in the relationship.
Regarding the families, i don't think anyone was offended by this, we got quite a fair amount of money as gifts when i wasn't expecting a single cent so, that was a nice surprise. Everyone has been supportive and happy about it so, no problems there.

The pair of you sound as though you've got exactly the right attitudes

And i can say that, having had the experience of a few very corrosive relationships in the past, i am a very lucky guy to have found a partner like Patricia.
Just goes to show that it's never too late.

My belated congratulations.

Not going to offer any tips or wisdoms - I'm on my third outing, and even if the current relationship is more than twenty years old these days, I'm not taking anything for granted, just being happy to find her by my side every morning.

Many good years to you!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

May I add my congratulations too?    I completely  agree with Pellson, just enjoy each day as it comes.   Rheged  (37  and a 1/2  years married  and just about starting to understand  it!)

You'll never understand it.  If you think you do then you've probably got it wrong and even if you are not wrong they'll change the rules on you anyway.
Just go with the flow and enjoy the ride.

Congrats too, I had to re-read your post to see what everyone was on about, sorry.

I managed 34 yrs with the late Mrs_PR19 before she died, and they were pretty good. She reckoned it was actually only 3.4 years as I spent all my working life away from home and living in hotels, and THAT'S why it worked so well.  ;D
