Found this little beauty of a museum yesterday. Great little museum. Lots to see, I'll have to go back for sure. The gift shop was huge as well. There weren't a lot of folk around so it was perfect. Got to sit in a few and 'pretend' fly. A lot easier when there's nobody around  The F-100 was my favourite.

Fibreglass gate guard. Still looks impressive !

Some wrecks and relics in the pile :

S-76 or something ? Was to be a spy type built in Akron but crashed on it's maiden flight. I'll have to google it

This was built and flown by an ex-Catalina pilot, also need to check my facts

From the F-14

A Sabre to finish the trio

The rest of this Invader is in the maintenance shop being rebuilt

Look at that poor old neglected Dagger.

Good pics.  Thanks Cap'n.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I guess the Dagger was from Florida, where the sun and the salt were wreaking havoc on the aluminium and magnesium. They got 4 aeros from there. Not sure which.

Grumman Tiger.  Such a pretty aircraft which to me has more than a hint of Sidney Camm about it.  All it needs is a Hunter-style fin/rudder and tailplane, a couple of drop tanks and a pair of Firestreaks.....

That Thud looks like one of the ones the USAF Security Police Academy had in their training areas at Lackland...including as simulated B-52s

Great photos, thank you for posting.  I love museums like this, especially poking around the outside displays.

Hope you got to make jet noises while sitting in the Hun cockpit!

Some great photo's there Capt, thanks for posting

I particularly like the photo Panther/Cougar ? She looks like a bird of prey just to depart the nest with her wings like that.

Yup. Always looked far to dainty for a US design to me. I've built an Aeronvale one and it's one of the few jets I could build multiples of
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks guys. As always, wish I would have spent more time looking around but I'll be back

Says the Thud was used at a battle damage school. Their descriptions are rather lacking and could defo use some help.
