That's worth Whiffing, seen the B-52 resin engines as an aftermarket kit in 1/144 and 1/72 scale.

Unless you use the earlier engine type you will be doing it wrong, look carefully at the engines in the picture, you will notice a slight bulge under at least one of them which is only there on the versions prior to the G/H versions of the B-52.

My build would be different as I'm using a EC-135 Snoopy as the donor aircraft.

That is so cool. I'll have to check the weights and powers of both a/c and engines....just seems like a lot of power for a 707 type to me ? Still looks pretty wild and a model would be sure to turn some heads.

Cutting Edge Modelworks do a NASA mother ship conversion for the B-52G/H so it's feasible to build

Speaking of AEW camouflage colours.  Does anybody know where I can get a hold of "RAF Blue Grey BSC361C" for use on RN FAA Gannets in the late 1960s, early 1970s?  Or something that is a near equivalent?

When I look up BSC361 it comes up as Light Stone  Are you sure of your reference and have you tried here?

It states "BSC361" on the decal instructions from Xtradecal.   I note there is also a "633" next to it, which according to the IPMS charts translates to FS:16044 which looks right on my screen.   It appears Xtracolor makes it as X013.  Unfortunately only in an enamel.  I prefer acrylic paints myself.

BS381c #633 is indeed RAF Blue grey.

BS381c is one of the British colour standard documents.

The iModelkit iPhone and iPad app gives a direct match of Akan 80 039 enamel.

Going from FS, 26044 (no 16044) is matched to Vallejo 70.995 German Grey acrylic.

Those are COD4 Gannets, AEW Gannets were Extra Dark Sea Grey over Sky.

See what Italeri or Revell used for their Wessex HAS3 as thats the same colour as the Gannet COD

Look on Hannants they've got RAF Blue grey in their Xtracolor range
See here http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?search_direction=asc&search=Xtracolor%20&manufacturer_id=8272
Or you could try the IPMS Stockholm site which has loads of info on colours
And model paint matches http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Thanks, one and all, I've ordered some Vallejo 70.995 German Grey.

Oh that is lovely ! That is what I meant. Not necessarily operating down low, just blending in down low

That picture shows it landing/taking off and I remember seeing pictures of the EC-121 in camouflage during Vietnam as well.

The EC-121R was painted in the USAF "SEA" camo colour scheme.

And because that was the case they probably decided that drawing the proposal in SEA camo would be apt.
