Ever since I found this while doing research on another flying machine, I have been intrigued by it. Now, I have to confess to having a soft spot in my heart for the De Havilland Dh 60 Moth, and I'm sure everyone is familiar with the craft developed from it, the Tiger Moth, but what if the Blackburn B2 had been developed even further than it ended up being and, with a swept top wing, could it have been close to what the Tiger Moth was?

The B-2 was developed from the Bluebird IV, and like that aircraft, it had slight sweepback on the mainplanes.
The mainplanes on the Tiger Moth were sweptback 19 inches at the tips for reasons of CG control and with the
side-by-side seating of the B-2, I can't see any reason why you'd bother increasing wing sweepback. It wouldn't
increase performance.

The B-2 was an excellent aircraft with unfortunate timing and it had two drawbacks to some potential customers:
side-by-side rather than tandem seating; a fully metal-skinned fuselage that made the aircraft more expensive.

If you're going to develop it as a believable Blackburn aircraft you will have to increase the ugly factor by at least 75%, the B2 was way too dainty.

Blackburn were learning about 'pretty' when they built the B2, the days of the Blackburn Blackburn, Dart and Kangaroo were well gone by then.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
