I'd like to see someone repop the Wellesley and Privateer.  And Revell can bring out the Norseman again please.
And i'm sure when I study that Matchbox tribute site i'll be able to add to that list.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

The Privateer was re-popped in 2009 so may still be around in some places although Revell OOP kits do get cleared out quickly and can be a bugger to track down afterwards.

As I recall, they repopped the Norseman at the same time they did the Privateer. They didn't stick to the shelves for very long though.

I was still wargamming when the Matchbox armour kits were out and have some fond memories of them. As you say the bases were a great idea. Was it the Sherman that was perched on that ruined bridge incline ?

Yes, it was.

I remember buying them in twos for that reason!
Some of the other bases were great, too - the Morris and 17-pdr ruined French building springs immediately to mind.

Revell also repopped the Heyford, which I thought was a fantastic move.

Ah yes. I always liked that kit and admired the fact they had tooled the Morris rather then something "sexier"

...and you could combine it with parts from the "Monty's Caravan" set, for a deeper street section.  ;)

Ooh, had never thought of that... thanks for the idea!

Yes, thanks.  I remembered that when I started having a proper look for one on the net.

Is there armour missing from that Matchbox website?  Pretty sure they did an M48 Patton as in a teenage whiff I grafted the turret from one onto a Panzerjaeger IV.

Don't remember a Patton but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. I was strictly WWII

IIRC they re-popped someone's 1/32 or 1/35 M-26/46, and a couple of others... not sure whose, maybe Glencoe or Lindberg?
